All nine Ill-fatedoccupants of a speeding Verna Car died on the spot in a head on collision witha loaded truck between Gillaan Khera and Daryapur falling in Fatehabaddistrict. The Car was coming from Sirsa. The occupants were two couples andtheir 5 minor children. Misjudgement by the car’s driver while overtaking atruck resulted in head on collision. The occupants were returning aftervisiting a religious function at Dera Sach Sauda Sirsa.

Baba Pritam Singh ji popularly known as Kar SewaWalay Baba ji, breathed his last after prolonged illness in the wee hours oftoday (2nd January).

His body was brought from a hospital in Ludhiana toSirsa today at noon. As the NEWS spread thousands of his associates and fans throngedat Gurdwara Chilla Sahib to pay obeisance to him. His funeral shall be held on morningof 3^rd January. There was great rush at Gurdwara entry. Althoughvolunteers from Gurdwara were assisting and guiding people but still all theroads leading to Gurdwara and nearby areas were all filled up with Vehicles ofall sorts parked here and there. At one time there was such a Jam at the Langar side entry to the Gurdwara that it became impossibleto get in or come out. SP Sirsa himself came with the POLICE force to takestock of the situation. Bare Footed SP Sh. Davinder Yadav in a humble way requestedthe Sangat to maintain discipline andstand in Q. SHO Sh. Suresh Pal and Traffic SHO Daljit Arya were also with the SP.The body of Baba Pritam Singh was placed in Glass Box with a small AC to helpkeep the temperature of the body low. People kept pouring into the Gurdwara complextill well past mid night of the night between 2nd and 3rd January.

Baba Pritam Singh - who all his life remained a devout SIKH, was loved by people as he had beeninvolved in Kar Sewa of several Gurdwaras. Apart from Gurdwara Chilla Sahib he took charge of Kar Sewa at Gurdwara Madho Singhana, Gurdwara Sahib at Saha (Sohava Sahib) near Nohar Rajasthan,Gurdwara in Sector 20 HUDA, Gurdwara at Sahuwala 1st etc. Although Baba Pritam Singh was born at VillageDosanjh near Phagwara, but he put-up at Sirsa since 1958 when he got in touch withBaba Baghel Singh of Sirsa. Apart from Gurdwaras Baba Pritam had also helped insetting up of Schools and Dispensaries in this area. In his early life before partition of India and Pakistan (Undivided India) he used to go for Kar Sewa at Gurdwara Nankana Sahib (Now in Pakistan). He was reportedly about 93 years old.
Ch. Abhay SinghChautala MLA Ellenabad, Dr Ashok Tanwar MP Sirsa, Sh. Govind Kanda, Bhupesh Mehta and several leaders issued condolencesupon passing away of Baba Pritam Singh.

You talk of the New Year, and people will jump to tellyou where are they going to party. As per the pocket, and desire to show off,the gentry will rush to the already crowded hotels and restaurants. Some willturn their house into a party hub. So come the 31st, and every one is binging,drinking to glory, and dancing into wee hours. And then there will be scuffles,driving accidents, and solid hang over. On the first day of the new year, theparty animals are sleeping late into the day, with an aching head, and upsetstomach. They perhaps have made more enemies than friends. Where is therefreshing cheer of the new -year? What happened to the new -year resolutionsjust made the previous night? Dashedinto liquor bottles! Where is our work output which should be optimum on thestart of the year? Is this the way to start a new year?

I feel differently. We need to get over the stereotype rituals of latemight binging and see how we can make a bright and promising start to 2012which lasts. I feel the first day must be pregnant with positiveactivities and noble thoughts. The day should start with prayers and visiting areligious place of our belief. It must contribute towards communal harmony.Thereafter, it should be a day of giving to the under privileged, what ever wecan afford in cash or kind. Think of the poor people who are sleeping on thepavements and shivering in this cold. Go and give them a blanket, and somefood. It will be much cheaper than a bottle of whiskey andchicken that you will consume tonight.

Itshould also be the time to mend the fence with our relations, colleagues, andfriends. Shed ego and reach out to the people who have fallen apart due tomisunderstandings etc. A simple sorry, even on telephone, can make adifference. Thereafter, we must go to our respective work places, at least ontime today. En-route give a smile to the traffic policemen, wish the rickshawpuller, and hug the office boy. Today, we should be at our best behavior withour staff. No losing temper please. Today, what ever job we are assigned, letsgive in our 100 percent to the organisation. And for heavens sake, lets atleast not take or give a bribe on the new year. Anna should have some effect.Never know, like smoking, we may overcome this contagious disease.

Finally, let the new year end with an evening walk with the family. Talk to thechildren and laugh with them. Sharing, caring, communicating, and burningcalories. Then we can have a peaceful sleep. Day after day. Happy New Year.

In a simple informal function Dr. Ashok Tanwar memberof parliament from Sirsa felicitated Lt. Rajdeep Singh and Lt. Ankit Sihag ontheir being commissioned into Indian Army.

The two young officers are from Sirsa and have been commissionedinto the Indian Army on the Passing-Out- Parade (POP) held on 10^thDecember2011 at IMA Dehra Dun.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Tanwar mentioned that hehimself comes from Army back ground as his father was in Indian Army.

He congratulated the parents, Sh. Rajpal Singh and Dr.KC Sihag. Dr. Tanwar said that these two young officers are a matter of pridenot just for Sirsa but for nation. They will also serve as role model andinspiration for other young students that if they work hard in the rightdirection than they can be successful purely on merit as well.

DenseFog prevailing in the region proved fatal for four people last night while onewas injured critically in two road accidents. The accidents are said to have occurred due to poor visibility; owing tofoggy conditions in the district. Three persons, including a businessman, werekilled and one was injured when their car rammed into a tree in dense fog lastnight near Sikanderpur Village. The victims were reportedly heading towardsSirsa after watching a movie at Ohm Cinema Multiplex when the accidenthappened. The injured is said to shifted to a Hisar hospital where hiscondition was described as critical. According to police spokesman in anotheraccident one person was killed in a collision between his bike and a tractornear the main gate of the Chaudhary Devi Lal University on the bypass, thecause was again dense fog. The names ofthe dead in the car collision are: Prashant, Man Singh and Kuldeep, the fourthwho is critically injured is Akash. The onewho died near CDLU is said to be Rohit.

Sh Jeevan Singh Naib Tehsildar Ellenabad, Sh. BM Nagar Naib Tehsildar Rania, Mr.Karnveer Sahu Advocate President Bar Association Ellenabad, Mr. Daljit Virk Advocate Vice President Bar Association Ellenbad, Mr.Deepak Malik Advocate General Secretary Bar Association Ellenabad, Ms. Sarbjit Kaur Handa Advocate (Jointsecretary Bar Association Ellenabad) also addressed on the occasion. All otheroffice bearers of the Bar association were present along with most of themembers of the Bar Association Ellenabad.

THE newly built Judicial Court Complex at Ellenabad was inaugurated today by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ranjan Gogoi senior more justice of Punjab and Haryana High court in the presence of Mr. BS Hooda, Chief Minister Haryana. Speaking at the occasion Justice Gogoi said that it was important to bring justice closer to the litigants, he also impressed upon the Advocate fraternity to help in speeding up of the decision process of the cases.

CM Haryana Mr. BS Hooda said that he himself had been a practicing lawyer, so he understood the need of setting up of judicial complexes in the state, and so far out of 21 districts, Judicial complexes have already been established in 19 districts, while construction of new Judicial complexes of Palwal and Mewat districts shall begin soon. A large budget has been allocated for this and already since 2005 more than 200 crore rupees have been spent in developing judicial complexes. Mr Hooda announced a grant of Rs10 Lacs from the CM funds for Bar Room, Library, Computers and other needs at the New Court Complex. Dr. Ashok Tanwar MP Sirsa, said that we are at the crossroads, and it’s high time for self introspection by the Executive, the Legislature, the Judiciary and the Media, as scams like 2G spectrum and others such have spared non of these. Dr Ashok Tanwar MP also announced Rs5Lacs for the Ellenabad bar from MPLAD funds.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced more than Rs.300 Crore development projects forRatia constituency worth while addressing a massive rally held in Ratia onSaturday.

Whilespeaking during the thanksgiving rally organised at Anaj Mandi, Hooda said hehad come to thank voters of Ratia for voting for their candidate, JarnailSingh, and also to fulfil his promise to make Ratia a model constituency in theentire state.

Thespecial package worth R300 crore is for constructing village streets, sportsstadium, setting up primary health centre in Ratia, constructing link andapproach roads connecting villages, setting up girls college, up gradation ofvarious government schools, setting up of grain and vegetable market, setting uppower station and land for auto market.

Dr. AshokTanwar, MP form Sirsa and Secretary AICC who was entrusted the campaign ofRatia bypoll said with Jarnail Singh’s victory, the strength of Congress MLAshas increased to 46, which means now the party is self sufficient though theyhave support of Independent candidates as well.

Nikhil brings laurels to Sirsa, stands 6th in IIT-JEE 2008

NIKHIL, synonym with his name, which means Complete, who is son of Dr. Parveen Garg, a leading pathologist, brought laurels not only to his family but to SIRSA as well, by putting the name of SIRSA on the national map. Yes, Nikhil is one of the lucky few who can do it, Nikhil Garg stood 6th in the prestigious and tough to crack IIT-JEE (2008).

But success is not a chance commodity with the Garg’s, Nikhil’s elder brother Ketan Garg also was equally glorious when he cleared the PMT in 2005, and is now pursuing his MBBS from Safdarjung Hospital New Delhi.

Dr. Parveen Garg, despite his demanding job profile, is also into meditation, he is a follower of philosophies of OSHO.

The loss of mother of Nikhil proved a turning point in his life; he committed himself to fulfill the dreams of his mother although she is no more here to rejoice the success of her son Nikhil.

Nikhil who was till 10th standard a student of St. Xavier’s High School, a premier ICSE School in the region, joined DAV Centenary Public School, at the Sr. Secondary level, Nikhil Stood second in the DAV school also in the CBSE XII boards, Nikhil also took specialized coaching for the preparation of IIT-JEE from a famous institute in KOTA, Rajasthan.

A MiG-21combat aircraft of the Indian Air Force on Friday crashed near Mangalia villageof Rania Mandi in Sirsa but the pilot managed to eject moments before the planewent down. The combat aircraft of AIF took off from Sirsa Air Force stationbase around 10am for its regular practise. The plane crashed around 1pm in thefields of Mangalia village. Air Force medical team led by SP Gupta, BK Patiland other AIF officials reached the spot and three Fire brigade engines werepressed into service to douse the burning flames coming out of plane.

Districtadministration team led by Sirsa DC Sameer Pal Srow, SP Devinder Yadav rushedto the site with medical team and to take stock of the situation.

Three- Day Annual YouthFestival of CDLU at JCD (PG) College of Education was inaugurated

with great joy here atJCD (PG) College of Education on 17th November. DifferentColleges of Chaudhary Devilal University participated actively in itsthree-day mega literary celebration of Annual Youth Festival from 17^thto 19^th November. During this, the features of attraction were LiteraryEvents, Quiz Competition and Fine Arts Events. Hundreds of skilful studentsparticipated in different competitions related to Literary and Fine Artscontexts; whereas, more than 2000 others witnessed and encouraged theirperformances. The Chief Guest on day one, Dr. Chander Trikha, Ex Director,Haryana Sahitya Academy inaugurated the Festival by lighting of the lamp. Onthis occasion, the Chief Guest said: "Such festivals are organized forentertainment as well as to enhance knowledge and mutual understanding amongthe students." Congratulating all organizers and participants of thefestival, who have prepared very well to their capacity and ability, he furthersaid: "I am very happy to note special excitement among students. The waythey have toiled day and night is really going to pave their way to successfulfuture. I wish all of them a grand success in all of their endeavors."

The function was presidedover by Dr. Madhuri Mehta, famous ENT Specialist and Painter, Jindal Hospital,Hisar. She said “I am a Doctor by profession but Painting is my first love.Whenever I got time I indulge myself in painting.” An exhibition of Dr. MadhuriMehta and Mr. Manoj Chhabra’s paintings were also inaugurated on this occasion.Sandeep Joshi, well known Cartoonist was the Guest of Honor and he said,“Contribution of cartoonists in present day society is valuable. They give atruthful commentary of what is happening in society. I think they depict thesituations in all hues and shades. This kind of public scrutiny is very muchnecessary for democracy” Mr. R M Singh, well-known artist was the special guestand along with him Ms. Martin, a famous poetess and painter from France wasalso present in the function. R M Singh is a rare artist: gifted with the brushand blessed with deep sensitivity is among few painters of India who bringlaurels for the country. He also shared some tips with the students in theworkshop and enhanced their knowledge about the art of

painting. The ManagingDirector, Dr. Shamim Sharma welcomed the students, the

principals and teachersof various institutions taking part in the Youth festival. Laying stress on theimportance of extracurricular activities she said, “Unless one is happy andhealthy, one cannot

perform well in studies.It is necessary to take a break and get rejuvenated to perform betteracademically”. She asked the students to strive for a healthy competition. TheManaging Director thanked Vice Chancellor Dr. K.C. Bhardwaj for giving anopportunity to conduct Youth Festival here at JCD Vidyapeeth. She alsocongratulated Dr. Jai Prakash, Principal JCD College of education and his teamfor organizing the festival. The competitions in this festival were held at theEducation

Auditorium in B.EdCollege. The competitions during the day one included Symposium, Debate,Declamation in Sanskrit, Poster making, Painting and cartooning to name a few.The participants got an opportunity to show their creative side and also got achance to interact with one another.

More than 50 doctors manning Civil Hospitals CHCs and PHCs of District Sirsa went on Mass Casual Leave today in protest against Governments indifferent attitude towards their long pending demands.

Speaking to SirsaNews, Dr Rajesh Chaudhary President, Sirsa branch of Haryana Civil Medical Services Association (HCMSA) said that the doctors are proceeding on mass causal leave on 8^th and 9^th November in pursuance of the decision of the General Body Meeting held at Rohtak on October 16 and attended by nearly 500 doctors from the State. There are several issues but few of the major demands from Govt of Haryana were: 1. Non Practising Allowance (NPA) to be made a part of basic pay. 2. Filling of vacant posts in HCMS. 3. Demand for better policy for PG Doctors, the existing policy for PG Doctors is a hindrance to becoming a specialist. 4. There is a dearth of Specialists in HCMS despite of that there is always a delay in paying incentive to the existing specialist, going by the extra work load and non job satisfaction these specialists are also keen to leave their posts to join neighbouring state of Punjab which is offering better packages and incentives.

On the other hand Dr. Daya Nand, Civil Surgeon, Sirsa told SirsaNews that the welfare of patients is being looked into without interruption, SMOs have been asked to stay on duty and take care of the patients.
