A beautiful evening with heart touching Gazals kept Gazal lovers glued to their seats, well past the mid night of night between 16th - 17th May. The event was Sham-A-Gazal presented by ‘Riaz’ an organization of Sirsa dedicated to Hindustani music. The melodious evening had Gazals by Maghar Ali of Bhatinda, and Himanshu Honey from Yamuna Nagar the two main artists, although there was also a number by Simran and a devotional number by Sh Raj Verma who is also the director of Riaz. The program was conducted in the able direction of Tulsi Anupam who has long been associated with Gurdas Mann. The best way to know about this evening is to watch this video, though it has no comparison with what was experienced by the audience present in Live. Sh Govind Kanda was the chief guest at the program while, Sh Saurabh Singh IPS from Rohtak and Sh Rajiv Parashar ADC Bhatinda, both music lovers had come all the way from Punjab and Rohtak to enjoy the live show, they were aptly named as Sadar-A-Mehfil by Riaz. Both these guests were in no hurry and enjoyed the Gazals from beginning to the last number. Manbhawan Sharma, Jeetu Verma on Bass Guitar, JS Jaggi on Acoustic Spanish Guitar, Tulsi Anupam on the keyboards, Cheelu Sharma on Octopads, and Chetan Sharma on the Tabla, orchestrated seamlessly with each other, all so perfect that it was difficult to say who was the supreme, but the confidence and brilliance with which Pandit Manbhawan was at ease on his Violin, definitely made him the star in the eyes music lovers.

This Video also starts with his Violin, playing a track from ‘Jab We Met’. The present Video is a short glimpse of the Sham-A-Gazal in short; Individual Videos shall be soon on the YouTube Channel of Sirsa News. The evening had many faces from Sirsa who love Gazals, sitting as keen audience, some of them are Dr GK Aggarwal, Prof Rup Devgun, Prof. Mrs Sethi, Prof RP Sethi, Prof. Gopal Kaushik, Prof VS Chauhan, Prof Ravinder Puri, Murari Verma, Ravinder Singh, Gurjeet Mann, Pardeep Raheja, Parveen Bagla, Gangadhar, DD Verma, Sh Massey, Amit Tiwari, Dr. Gajender Singh, Rishi Pandey, Ravi Bansal and other journalists who have an ear for Gazals were also present. Laj Pushp anchored the program with his well known sheen.

Sirsa - No. 1 in Wheat Procurement in Haryana

Sirsa - No. 1 in Wheat Procurement in Haryana
 SIRSA NEWS ( www.SirsaNews.com )

Sirsa district has procured maximum wheat in the State during the current wheat procurement season. Over 81.40 lakh metric tonnes of wheat has been arrived in Haryana Mandis till yesterday, out of which 81,40,154 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured by six government procuring agencies and the remaining 463 metric tonnes of wheat has been purchased by the traders.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Food and Supplies Department said that the over 22.60 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had been purchased by Food and Supplies Department and over 29.03 lakh metric tonnes by HAFED. The CONFED purchased 4.96 lakh metric tonnes of wheat, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 7.80 lakh metric tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 7.88 lakh metric tonnes and Food Corporation of India procured over 9.09 lakh metric tonnes of wheat.

The bumper crop is hard work of the farmers of Sirsa along with a prolonged winter which helps in late maturity of the grains thus increasing the weight per grain. The rain gods had spared the wheat crops from any damage during the harvesting period though there had been some light showers in April but they hardly did any damage. Luckily there were no hail storms events this season in Sirsa
www.SirsaNews.com had already mentioned in its post dated 28th April 2012 that Sirsa shall be No. 1 in Haryana in wheat procurement.
This year the wheat procured is also exclusively of Sirsa area only, beacuse there had been no import of wheat from Rajasthan areas adjoining to Sirsa, as Rajasthan had offered Rs100-00 bonus over the MSP of RS1285-00 this year.
