Deputy Commissioner Sh. SK Goel honors Ms. Priyanka Dudi, Ms. Priyanka Insaan, Ms. on behalf of District Administration Sirsa.

These girls had performed outstandingly for the Indian team and defeated Thailand in the Asian Championship Finals held at Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
All these three girls are students of BA-I year of Shah Satnam Ji Girls College, Sirsa. The college had trained these girls to attain this level of excellence. Principal of the college Mrs. Geeta Monga accompanied the students. Mr Bhupesh Mehta, Mr. Veerbhan Mehta, Dr Pawan Goel, S. Bikramjit Singh Kanwar, DPRO Mr. Satish Mehra, Mr Dalip Jain, Distt Sports Officer Sirsa and several dignitaries from Sirsa were present at the simple function.

Despite inclement weather, the Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team (SKAT) Air Show was a runaway success at Air Force Station Sirsa. The show that could not be started at the scheduled time of 7:30Am as it started raining from the wee hours on 27th March, seemed to be announced postponement but the rains Gods also perhaps did not want to disappointment scores of children and equal number of adults accompanying them. The drizzle paused for a couple of hours and that was temptation enough for the well prepared Air Force and Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) to take to the air. To initiate the show Gp Capt. GS Bedi himself took off a MIG fighter for about 15 minutes in the air showing its majesty and Power to the stunned audience who were perhaps all there to witness just the Hal made Kiran MK-II aerobatics. The agile MIG warmed up the spectators as they had been waiting since morning in the cold wet windy weather in the open. Soon after the MIG landed the 6 Kiran MK-II planes, led by the team leader JT Kurien taxied towards the runway and took flight in serial order.
And there after their show in the air with tricolor smoke and formations that elated and enthralled everybody in such magnanimity that time seemed to have stopped for the duration the Red Kirans were airborne. Elite from the city, administration, judiciary, educationists, business, politics, farmers and the commoners were all together with their eyes towards the cloudy skies to gaze onto super stars of another kind, the Red Machines being tamed by trained Air Force pilots.

At the end of the show children, Gheroed, Gp. Capt. GS Bedi, JT Thomas and other red uniformed pilots for their autographs. The adults were seen commenting that it’s not just Film Stars and Sports stars who are sought by autograph seekers the men in uniform are also.

The smoke trails left by the aerobatic aeroplanes are made by releasing diesel into the exhaust; this oxidises straight away, leaving a white smoke trail, Dyes are added to produce the different colours. The diesel is stored perhaps in the pod on the underside of the plane; originally designed to carry a cannon, it houses three tanks: 1 for pure diesel for white trail and two tanks of green- and red-dyed diesel. The smoke system uses about ten gallons per minute; therefore each plane can trail smoke for a total of several minutes.

Mr. GS Bedi Group Captain IAF informed media in a press conference held at IAF Station Sirsa that for the people of Sirsa and surroundings a spectacular Aerobatics show by the IAF Surya Kiran team shall be displayed on 27th March 2009, at IAF Sirsa Station from 7:30AM onwards. The show is free to general public and has no hassles of entry passes etc.

Mr. Bedi informed that the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) that was formed in 1996 is the only one of its kind in India and is perhaps one of the best teams of the world.

Mr. Bedi requested that the visitors should not bring in eatables of any sort to the Airforce station to avoid bird hits, he informed that the use of cell phones, firearms, cameras and other electronic gadgets are not allowed at the IAF Campus. Click here to To know more about SuryaKirans

Mr Ravi Posh a seasoned stationary dealer and a tutor of commerce was always at wits end when anxious parents sought randomly his advise more than a decade ago about the careers guidance and choice of schools etc while they came to his Stationery shop located in one of the posh areas of SIRSA the Chowk of A,B & D Block (Durga Mandir Chowk). Initially he used to tell them whatever he thought was proper but was never sure if the advice he is doling out is really best. This made him always ponder that if had access to all the data base of everyone and all institutes imparting education then he could be better equipped for the free advice he is doling out. He discussed the matter with his friends and every one suggested why not he compile and print such a directory. That day onwards he stopped imparting lessons in commerce to College and university students and left his business in the care of his father. Every morning he left to compile data by personally visiting all the schools, colleges, institutes etc. first in the main cities then in towns and later he did not leave the remotest village having even the smallest of the school.

The directory when released was a runaway success. But it did not really serve the purpose to the extent that it was purported to do as it could not be in the hands of all the people when really needed. (Parents and students), due to its limited number of printed copies. The next from the brainchild of Mr. Ravi Posh was to put all such information on the web so that it may become available to one and all and everywhere!

Working on website in small cities like Sirsa is by any terms a herculean task for anyone. But Mr. Ravi Posh was determined to accomplish this and hence this website is here.

A Sirsa based conman identified as Abhishek Sharma S/o Sh. S.S. Sharma, a peon in the Income Tax Department was today held by Sirsa Police on 18th March for allegedly posing and flaunting himself as an IPS Officer and cheating people. SHO. Sirsa police station, Ajay Sharma told that on the basis of a complaint filed by the accused’s wife a criminal case of rape and cheating under sections376, 420,467,468,471 and 120B of the IPC have been registered against the accused. According to reports the accused along with another Abhishek Sharma of Jaipur took the Central Services Examination held by the Union Public Service Commission in 2004. Abhishek of Jaipur was selected and got his posting as an IRS (Indian Revenue Services) Officer whereas the accused failed.
Abhishek of Jaipur wanted to become an IPS officer and sat in the examination held in 2006 and so did the accused. Once again the fate deceived the accused but his name sake from Jaipur was selected and was placed at no. 225 in the merit, but he preferred to stay put in the IRS cadre. The accused however fraudulently took advantage of his name sakes’s selection in the 2006 batch and declared himself as being selected as an IPS Officer. So much so that the accused got him honored as an IPS Officer by various NGO’s at Sirsa and elsewhere. He also allegedly exploited his “position” in seeking matrimonial alliance in a respectable Aggarwal family of Sirsa. His wife was horrified when the reality dawned upon her and filed a complaint with the police. The accused was produced in the court which sent him on one day’s police remand today.

Sd. Angrez Kaur, mother of Sh Bhupinder Panniwalia senior journalist and President Haryana Patrakar Sangh, breathed her last on Saturday night (14th March 2009). She was about 78 years old. Antim Ardas and BHOG shall be held at Panniwala Ruldu the native village of Sh Bhupinder Panniwalia, on 24th March at 1PM.
