Maharaja Aggarsain Jayanti was celebrated with religious fervor in Sirsa yesterday. Mr Gopal Kanda Home Minister, presided over the main function held at Aggarsain Park. An impressive Shobha Yatra was also taken out by members of Aggarwal community in main bazaars of Sirsa.

Later Sh. Gopal Kanda informed media that a number of Japanese companies would invest in the Industrial sector in Haryana as during the recent visit of Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupender Singh Hooda to Japan, agreements on many investment proposals have been signed with Japanese companies. The Japanese Japanese major Aisin Seiki has a plan to set up an Auto Plant in Haryana with an investment of Rs. 700 crore over an area of 50acres.This was stated by Minister of State for Industries Mr. Gopal Kanda while interacting with the media persons here today. He said that Chief Minister’s visit to Japan remained fruitful as Mr. Hooda discussed investment proposals with Osamu Suzuki of Suzuki MotorCompany and also with the representatives of Panasonic and Mitsue. He said that Mr. Hooda also urged the representatives of various Japanese companies to invest in Haryana. The companies also showed keen interest in investing in Haryana.

Mr. Kanda said that to facilitate the entrepreneurs in the State, Single Window System has been started. Investment Promotion Centers have been set up in Delhi and Chandigarh. Apart from this to get rid of the unnecessary inspection, self attestation system has also been implemented in the State. He further said that the State Government has decided to launch a fresh survey of micro, small, medium and large industries including all industrial units in the State. Under the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSME) Act 2006, a comprehensive data base would be prepared of all type of industrial units. He said that under the MSME Development Act, resurvey would be done due to the change of the glossary and language of the enterprises in the State. To carry out the survey, the department would seek the services of competent professional agencies and consultancy organizations. Those agencies, organizations and companies in India who have done  annual business of minimum Rs. 15crore in the last three years through the provisions of statistics, research and data collection, survey and consultancy services and they have the experience in the field of MSME could send their technical and financial proposals.

Dr. Arjun Rana Ex-HOD of Deaprtments of Economics HAU Hisar was the keynote speaker at a Seminar held at Patwar Bhawan Sirsa on occasion of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Jayanti organized by Shahid Yadgar Samiti Sirsa. Dr Rana said that the idea of Shaheed Bhagat Singh are relevant even today, in no way he abetted violence and this was evident from the fact that he planted the Bomb in the Parliament at such a point where there could be minimum loss to life or Limb. But such an act was perhaps inevitable to put pressure on the British Rulers that they are no more welcome as rulers of India. Tony Saggu, Sutantar Bharti and other organizers thanked the keynote speaker and those who were present.

The 98th birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Ch. Devi Lal was celebrated at JCD Vidyapeeth yesterday. The Chief Guest of the function was Sh. Naresh Kaushal, Editor, Dainik Tribune, Chandigarh while Mr. Bharat Bhushan Pradhan, Director, Jindal Saw Limited presided over the function. Hundreds of people were present at JCDV to pay their homage to the great leader.

The Program had commenced with the arrival of the Chief Guest with a floral welcome to them. After the floral welcome, the lamp was lit, followed by the Saraswati and Ganesh Vandana. After this a special documentary in the direction of Sh. Narender Kumar with the cooperation of Sh. Vishal Vats and Kanwal Kumar was presented to showcase the life and incidents associated with Chaudhary Devilal. While in power, Chaudhary Devi Lal is credited for having taken several decisions in the interest of the farming community and the rural people, among whom he is popularly known as 'Tau'. In this the various snapshots from his life was taken and act by the students along with a background description of scenes. The students of Sirsa School participated in a Dandiya Fusion Dance. The participants looked wonderful in their colourful Gujrati costumes. A choreography on the contribution of Chaudhary Devilal in Indian Freedom Movement was performed which was highly applauded by the audience. Chaudhary Devi Lal was a follower of Mahatma Gandhi and was actively involved in the struggle for Indian independence from the British Raj. On Mahatma Gandhi's call he left his studies unfinished to take part in the freedom movement.

Afterwards girls from Mata Harki Devi College, Odhan performed Giddha titled ‘Jaago’. In this emotion of a girl who is in her parental home during the festival of ‘Teej’ is depicted. The mesmerizing folk songs captured the hearts of audience. Then a Haryanvi Skit by the students of JCD College of Polytechnic is presented on superstition which conveyed the message of fake ‘Babas’ in the society. The skit was followed by Rajasthani Dance by Dental College students on the lyrics of famous song ‘Mhare hiwada mein nachaya morr’ which was absolutely awesome.

Then the spectators were thrilled by the most awaited performance by students of management who walked the ramp as cowboys. The audience couldn't have asked for more, as the walk electrified the atmosphere. The enthusiastic participation of the students in Haryanvi Dance from Mata Harki Devi College was an eye-catcher for everybody. The evening lit off with a spark by the dance. The colorful and vibrant fest concluded on high note of enthusiasm of traditional Punjabi folk dance Bhangra. A flash mob of about twenty Bhangra dancers in colourful and vibrant Punjabi costumes enthralled onlookers at the event.

The Vidyapeeth administration announced a cash prize of rupees 1100/- for the outstanding performance of fourth class employees in their respective fields. Prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest to the deserving participants who took part in the function. In the end, Sh. Naresh Kaushal encouraged the students with his words of wisdom and blessings and asked them to tread on the path shown by Chaudhary Devilal and become a true INDIAN. Dr. Shamim in her address said that we have a number of projects lined up, all of which will bear the stamp of novelty. Nothing can stop us right now……. Our journey has just begun. Dr. Shamim Sharma while thanking the audience announced a raise of 6 to 10 percentage for Non-teaching Staff and 21 percentages to the fourth class employees.

At last vote of thanks was delivered by the Program coordinator Dr. Kuldeep Singh. He said an event of this magnitude requires detailed planning months in advance. It also requires meticulous execution that leaves nothing to chance. He thanked the organizers particularly staff members of JCD Vidyapeeth for making this program a resounding success.

Members of Nagrik Parishad under the leadership ship of Sh. Jagdish Chopra Advocate today displayed a Video shot on the morning of 19^th September on burning problems of Sirsa city mainly connected with broken roads, overflowing sewage systems, stray cattle, garbage scattering everywhere, encroachments and traffic problems. The Video was shown to DC Sirsa and top brass of various departments at Mini Secretariat. Deputy Commissioner Dr. YS Khyalia asked the Video to be paused at different scenes and questioned the concerned officials about how and when they will rectify these problems. The officials tried to explain the DC about if and buts of the problems. But DC Sirsa made it clear that they should dedicate themselves to these problems and rectify all these in a time bound manner. Deputy Commissioner Sirsa appointed ADC Sirsa Mr. DK Behra IAS as Nodal officer for monitoring the work on these problems. Dr. YS Khyalia said that negligence now onward from any officer won’t be tolerated and stern action shall be taken against erring officers. Several members of Nagrik Parishad were present in thee meeting.

Another organisation ‘Prehari’ which is headed by Dheeraj Bajaj, a young journalist and Gen Secretary HUJ, put up huge flex Bill Boards at strategic points all over Sirsa city to showcase the pathetic conditions of the City. The Hoardings are also amusing citizens. The Hoardings have a Catchy Slogan in its centre- ‘Sharm Karo Ya Karam Karo’. Dheeraj Bajaj and his team also Video-graphed Sirsa on 8^th September. President of Prehari said that apart from administration it is duty of each citizen to help keep clean his surroundings. Mr Bajaj said that the Video and pictures of condition of Sirsa have also been sent to CM Haryana, but there has been no response from any quarters so far.

Indicators by agents say Baba Gurmit Singh Tilokewala wins by huge margin of over 5000 Votes over SAD(B)-INLD Candidate Parkash Singh Sahuwala.

In Dabwali SAD(B) candidate Jagsir Singh Magiana wins by over 1000 votes defeating Jagdev Singh Mattdadu of HSGPC as per estimate of polling agents.

Results may on 22nd September but shall remain a subject to decision upon petion of Shajdhari voters pending in Punjab and Haryana High Court.

The SGPC election to be held tomorrow which started on low key campaigns and amidst confusions of new Sikh voter enrolments, and the Faux-Pas of issue of Sehajdhari Voters etc, became focused and has become a keen contest on 2 seats of Sirsa. Sirsa and Dabwali Seats both fall in General Category.

In the last SGPC elections held in 2004, the main election issue was demand for separate Gurdwara Management Committee for Haryana. On this issue 7 of the 11 seats were won by candidates of HSGPC. HSGPC supporters impressed upon Haryana Govt. Central Government and The SGPC to accede to the demand for separate SGPC for Haryana on the basis of winning of these seats as referendum. But the Separate Committee could not be formed. Now in this 2011 SGPC the issue in the beginning may have been a non-starter but it had surely and certainly picked up heat and is again on the forefront of these elections. In 2004 Congress seemed to approving the demand as it was in the election manifesto of the Congress, due to this even the supporters of separate committee who came from various backgrounds were wrongly dubbed as Congressmen by media as well the SAD(B). This even hurt several of the protagonists of HSGPC.


But this time the defeat of 2004 by SAD(B) was taken seriously by Akali Dal Badal and SAD(B) biggies don’t want to see such a scenario again, to further safeguard its interests on these seats in Haryana SAD(B) handed over the Fort of Haryana SGPC elections to INLD to Hold. Interestingly INLD, a non Sikh Political party allotted all the seats to candidates for SGPC elections in Haryana. The two parties, SAD(B) and INLD are known for their affinity for each other. But their tying knot in SGPC elections may backfire and may not conceive desired results. SAD(B) leaders and INLD leaders are also bragging that all other candidates other than their candidates are Congress agents but it is to how voters see through it.


In Sirsa seat the Badal Candidate is Parkash Singh Sahuwala, his family is a stout follower of INLD. In his poll campaign he is always talking about Badal and against separate committee. While his main opponent, Baba Gurmit Singh Tilokewala is a non political person, and is convincing the voters that only religious persons should be elected to SGPC, he also asserts and admits that the demand of separate SGPC for Haryana is well founded and Haryana Sikhs are competent to manage their Sikh Shrinen. Baba Tilokewala is also supported by HSGPC, Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Sabha, Ekas Ke Ham Barik and half a dozen Sikh organizations. Baba is said to be in better position.


In Dabwali, it started as a triangular contest between Jagdev Singh Mattdadu of HSGPC and Jagsir Singh Mangiana of SAD and Paramjit Singh Makha, also fighting election on issue of separate committee supported by Deedar Singh Nalwi. Of late the contest is said to be between Jagdev Singh Mattdadu of HSGPC and Jagsir Singh Mangiana of SAD(B)-INLD alliance.
