Rania-Ellenabad Road blocked by irate villagers

Irate villagers today blocked Rania-JeevanNagar-Ellenabad Road today for hours together. The villagers put up the blockade in protest against Police Inaction against a spate series of thefts of tube-well accessories [Motor Starters, Cables etc.] happening in villages. Today in the morning the villagers caught hold of a couple of thieves themselves but one of the thieves managed to escape. The villagers alleged that these thefts were happening invariably in the past and upon information and complaint to police no action is taken by the Police, if at all there were some people picked by police for interrogation on insistence of villagers they were let go without any interrogation. DSP Mr. Shiv Charan tried to pacify the agitated villagers, but the villagers remained adamaent.
