Summary of what Dr Ashok Tanwar said and/or submitted in Lok Sabha while discussing
Rail Budget on 21 March 2012
As desired these are a few proposals to be taken up on priority.
1.Washing line at Sirsa.
2.Second platform at Sirsa.
3.Loop at Bhiwani - It will connect Hisar-Bhiwani Rail Watch Video NEWS:MP Sirsa Dr Ashok Tanwar discussing Railway Budget in Lok Sabha on 21-3-2012 Section to Bhiwani-Rohtak Rail Section so that shunting time for changing the
direction of Rail Engine at Bhiwani Jn. is saved. It
will not affect rail facilities for people of Bhiwani as it will be
connected to Bhiwani city existing rail station.
4. Kalanwali-Mandi Dabwali rail link. It is important because this will open a new rail link for bordering areas of Rajasthan bypassing Bathinda congestion & will reduce distance from Delhi to cities like Bikaner etc.
New Trains:
1. Extention of
a) Train No.12555/12556 Gorakhdham Exp.upto Sirsa.
b) Train No 19225/19226 Jammu-Bhatinda exp
Upto Sirsa.
c) Train No. 59701/59702 Jaipur-Hisar Passenger

v
In the last budget two lines were announced. To make these lines
functional, the process needs to be speeded up:
Hisar-Sirsa via Agroha and Fatehabad
Abohar-Tohana via Fatehabad
v
Survey process has been completed for the following line and this also
needs to fasten up the process to make this line functional:
Dabwali- Kalanwali
v
Railway Over Bridge: Construction of a Railway Over Bridge at Mandi
Dabwali
v
To set up Railway Washing Line in Sirsa: at Sirsa Railway station there is
hundreds of acres of land is in surplus and lying unutilized, which can be used
to set up of a washing line in this area. Also the railway land can be utilized
to establish some commercial ventures so as to generate additional employment
and business opportunities and revenue to the departments.
v
Forward linkages to Market: The district has the high potential for
commercial agricultural production. Wheat, cotton, paddy, fruits and vegetables
as well as milk and milk products are the backbone of the economy of the
district. The Haryana State as well as the district Sirsa is number one in
wheat production in the country and the district is also stands in number two
position in cotton production. All these agricultural and allied activities
will get a boost once the railway connectivity is improved.
v
Connectivity to the Nuclear Plant at Fatehabad: Nuclear Power Corp. of
India Ltd (NPCIL) has already initiated action to set up the state’s first
4X700 mw nuclear power plant in Gorakhpur village in Fatehabad district and a
Thermal Power Plant is also proposed at Barwala, Haryana. An Oil Refinery is
being set up at bordering, nearby district of Bhatinda, Punjab.
Dr Tanwar impressed upon that the Railway is plying a Shatabdi Train
between New Delhi and Ludhiana via Rohtak, Hissar Jind and Sangroor. This train
has no stoppage between Sangroor and Rohtak. On this long stretch of around 170
to180 kms, between Sangroor (Punjab) and Rohtak (Haryana), three stations that
fall under my parliamentary constituency, namely Jakhal, Tohana (Fatehabad),
Narwana (Jind) that covers two districts. No stoppage has been scheduled for
any of these stations. Further, as you are kindly aware that,
Sirsa, my parliamentary constituency, is very poorly connected through direct
and superfast trains. So, there is an immense need of stoppage of this train at
Tohana/Narwana for connecting the one of the biggest parliamentary constituency
to the major stations.
The work for construction of ROB Mandi Dabwali was approved in the annual
plan of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi for the year
2009-10. Accordingly, a detailed
estimate was prepared for a sum of Rs.4471.03 Lacs and submitted to the
concerned authority during December 2009.
However, due to lack of budgetary provisions in the Railways annual plan
for 2009-10, the project was not taken up.
In a recent meeting held on 7.7.2011 the Chief Engineer North Western
Railways and Chief Engineer (Bridges) Haryana PWD B&R Chandigarh, the
Railways has clarified that they have no objection for construction of this ROB
at Mandi Dabwali, if the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, New Delhi
included this bridge in their work programme for the year 2011-12.
