Sirsa Village Ding is 1st in Haryana
to get American India Foundation's Education Program- Digital Equalizer.

benefits of the project.
Dr. J Ganesan IAS while taking to media
said that such projects especially starting in the Villages by the American
India Foundation Trust are aimed to help bring in social and economic change in
India.
The organization’s focus is on
multiple sectors requiring intensive intervention. These core sectors are
Education, Livelihood, Bridging the digital divide in education, Health,
Women’s Empowerment. In addition to these there’s also Clinton Service Corps
Fellowship. The beneficiaries of these initiatives are the socially and
economically disadvantaged communities residing in the rural and urban areas.
American India Foundation’s Digital Equalizer program focuses on bridging the
knowledge–divide by leveraging the potential of Digital Technology, Computers
and Multi-Media Tools in the under-resourced schools in India. The focus is on
empowering the subject teachers by imparting the need-based Technology
training, covering wide spectrum of skills required in day-to-day teaching.
Under this program, training shall be
imparted to Pre-service teachers and In-service teachers at DIET. The teacher
training would cover the following: Basics of Computers, Using internet as a
tool for research and communication, Development of Multimedia lessons, Using
Multimedia curriculum content to teach subjects, Project based learning methods
etc.
