There are several candidates in the foray this time; over 50,000 eligible Advocates members of BCI P&H chapter can exercise their franchise in this election. The results take a bit longer period to declare as the voting is done on preferred vote system so the counting process is quiet tedious. Justice NK Agrawal (retd) is the returning officer. The Bar Council's strength is of 25 elected members excluding two ex-officio members as advocate generals of Punjab and Haryana, Ashok Aggarwal and Hawa Singh Hooda, respectively. At present, Minderjeet Yadav, Inder Pal Singh Dhanna and Harpreet Singh Garcha are chairman, vice-chairman and secretary of the body, respectively.
