Rich
tributes were paid to Ram Chander Chhatrapati, editor of Poora Sach, on his
11th death anniversary during the Chhatrapati Smriti Samaroh organised jointly
by Samvad, an NGO, and the Haryana Journalist Association on Nov 21st. The
Samaroh was held at Panchayat Bhawan Sirsa.
Chhatrapati
was shot at by assailants outside his house in Sirsa on October 24, 2002, and
he had succumbed to injuries on November 21 that year. Chief of Dera Sacha
Sauda Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is the prime accused in the Chhatrapati murder
case. This year’s Chhatrapati Samman was conferred on Prof Jagmohan Singh,
while the Chhatrapati Journalism Award was given to Mani Kant Mayank.
