A SEMINAR under the joint aegis of Saraswati Nadi Shodh Sanshthan, Haryana and Sirsa Education Society (SES) was held at CMK College auditorium today. Irrigation and revenue minister Haryana Captain Ajay Singh Yadav was the chief guest, Mr. V. Umashankar Deputy Commissioner Sirsa presided over. The impressive seminar enriched by the use of OHP and power point presentations was attended by many social workers, academicians, environmentalists, farmers and persons concerned with fast depleting water table in the region.

Dr. A.K. Gupta, Scientist Engineer ISRO Jodhpur; Dr. A.R. Chaudhary, Reader Deptt. Of Geology KUK; Dr. S. Kalyanaraman, president Saraswti Nadi Shodh Prakalp, Chennai and Mr. V.K.M. Puri Dir. Retd. Geological Survey of India read papers and proved beyong doubt that the Saraswti Nadi is not a mythology and it did exist in this region. The experts used imagery from IMARSAT, Google Earth, and other satellites as well used pictures of the excavations done at various sites along the path indicated by satellite imagery and mentioned in religious scriptures. The findings not only confirmed the existence of the River Saraswti but also that it was not a rivulet but a gigantic river perhaps even greater the Yamuna and The Ganges. It was also established by the experts that the Ghagger (click on Ghagger) flowing through Sirsa is also actually Saraswti.

Captain Ajay Singh Yaday addressed the audience and said that every effort shall be made and help extended to the Nadi Shodh for the revival of the river which can perhaps permanently put an end to water scarcity in Haryana. He also advised to the people doing politics over water that be prudent and instead of making water a personal prestige issue respect it like national property. Capt. Yadav announced the that the chief engineer of Yamuna Water Services would be the Nodal officer for the project for revival of Saraswti River.
Former Irrigation minister Mr. Jagdish Nehra, Mr. Hoshiarilal Sharma, Mr S.S. Goyal, Mr. Jaynarayan Tayal, Mr B.S. Dhaliwal an NRI from British Columbia, Dr. R.S. Sangwan, Dr. T.N. Chugh, Dr. B.R. Bhardwaj, Mr. Darshan Lal Jain State President Saraswati Nadi Shodh, Mr. Rai Singh Saharan, Dr Gulab Singh, Mr. Surinder Bhatia, Dr. OP Bansal, Mr. Pawar Advocate, Mr. Uttam Singh Grover, Mr Jagdish Chopra, Jaimal Singh Advocate, Ms. Anupam Ahluwalia, principal LHP Law College etc. were present some of these also addressed the seminar.
Ms. Kumud R. Bansal, Gen Secretary (SES), anchored the seminar and also inputted information about the delegates, the Ghagger and the Sirsa region.
