JAGDISH SINGH JHINDA, the president of (Ad hoc) Haryana Sikh Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (HSGPC) claimed that the Haryana Sikhs have resolved to achieve their goal of a separate Sikh body to manage their shrines in the state and their opponents like Badals or any other of their ilk would not be allowed to muzzle the voice or aspirations of the Sikhs in Haryana. While addressing media persons here yesterday he said that the Haryana State Congress led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda as well as UPA Govt. at the centre headed by Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh apparently succumbed under the pressure of some vested interests by putting of the genuine and legitimate demand of Haryana Sikhs of forming a separate HSGPC. Jhinda alleged that the Congress party in Haryana apparently backed out of its poll promise as mentioned in its pre-poll manifesto of forming a separate Sikh body after forming its govt. He reiterated that come what may the Haryana Sikhs would not rest till they achieve their aim and would teach the Congress a lesson in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. He further alleged that the State Govt. had cheated the Sikhs by lingering on the matter ostensibly under the pretext of forming a non functional Chattha Committee. He declared that if by March 26 the Haryana Govt. fails to form a separate Sikh body, a ‘Sarbat Khasa’ of the Haryana Sikhs would be convened at Kurukshetra on March 27 to chalk out the future course of action and also to decide about the Sikh’s role in the Parliamentary elections. He also declared that after the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’the Haryana Sikhs would forcibly take into their hands the Kar Sewa of State Gurudwaras. He expressed his anguish and lashed out at Badals and some other vested interests for doing their best for stalling the procurement of some Gurus’ artifacts or the Horse belonging to the descendents of the Horse used by the 10th Guru Govind Singh for the ongoing ‘Shukrana Yatra’ traversing through Haryana.
