In Haryana there are 8 constituencies consisting of 11 SGPC seats, out of this Sirsa Constituency has two seats, Sirsa (09) and Dabwali (08). Sirsa seat has about 39614 Sikh voters while Dabwali seat has about 29000 voters. The last date of nominations for these seats is 11^th August till 3:00PM.

ADC informed that model code of conduct has been enforced in Sirsa as per the guidelines and all the preparations regarding the polls are ongoing.

Last SGPC elections were held in year 2004. In Haryana in last elections the main contest was between SAD (Shiromani Akali Dal-Badal) supported candidates of (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) SGPC and HSGPC (Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) supported candidates of SGPC.
