Tuberculosis: A Leading Health problem in
Developing Countries
In
the ongoing AICTE sponsored Staff Development Programme at JCDM College of
Pharmacy, eminent Professors and Researchers, Dr. D. C. Bhatt, Deptt. of
Pharmaceutical Sciences, GJUS & T, Hisar, Dr. Sanyog Jain, a distinguished
Nanotechnologist of India, affiliated as Asstt. Prof., NIPER, Mohali, Dr. B.
Narsimhan, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharm. Sciences, M. D. U. Rohtak and
Dr. Sunil Gupta, Senior Consultant,
Glaxo Smith Kline Consumer Healthcare Ltd., Gurgaon shared their Research
experience in Pharmaceutical sectors especially Drug Discovery & Delivery.
Dr. D. C. Bhatt discussed the different
aspects & approaches in the pharmacotherapy of one of the leading health problem
of developing countries i.e. Tuberculosis. Dr. Bhatt also emphasized on how
Nanotechnology drug delivery can efficiently cure the tuberculosis.
Dr.
Sanyog Jain, who is working at NIPER, focused on targeted drug delivery
systems, an approach useful in particularly cancer drug delivery. Dr. Jain also
delivered the future problems of nano drug delivery and the different patented
products based on Nanotechnology.
Dr.
B. Narsimhan focused on the Computer Aided Drug Design in Medicinal Chemistry
and emphasized that CADD has become a very important tool in drug discovery.
Dr. B. Narsimhan also shared his research experience in the field of Medicinal
Chemistry and focused that use of CADD can reduce the time and cost for
development of New Drug Molecules.
Dr.
Sunil Gupta shared his experience on Artificial Intelligence in Drug Discovery
and Development. Dr. Gupta had a very interactive session with participants in
a way of key research areas in Pharmaceutical Industries. In the end, all
Resource persons were felicitated by the college.
Scientific Talks on Nano-Technology held
in JCDM College of Pharmacy
On the second day of AICTE sponsored
Staff Development Programme on “Current status & Future Perspectives in Drug
Discovery and Delivery Technologies” running at JCDM College of Pharmacy,
Sirsa, two eminent scientists Dr. Neeraj Dilbaghi, Chairman & Co-ordinator,
DST, Nano-Mission Programme, Dept. of Bio & Nano-Technology, GJUS&T,
Hisar and Dr. Munish Ahuja, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Sciences, GJUS&T, Hisar
delivered the scientific talks.
Dr. Neeraj shared his knowledge on
Nanotechnology applications in areas of medicine, Biology, Electronics etc. In
his another talk Dr. Dilbaghi talked about future prospects of edible vaccines
and transgenic products.
Dr. Ahuja shared his research experience
in ocular drug delivery systems and different techniques of ocular drug
targeting.
Two other eminent speakers Dr. Pawan
Sudhir, Prof. & Head, NCERT, New Delhi and Mr. Sudhir Gandotra C.E.O., open
Lx Inc., New Delhi shared their experiences on aesthetic values in human
life. Mr. Sudhir also shared his
experiences in the development of First Indian Linux operating systems.
