Pentavalent Vaccination introduced at Civil Hospital SIRSA from 21st Dec 2012. Deputy Commissioner SIRSA Dr J Ganesan inaugurated the start of immunization with Pentavalent.
This is as per program of The Government of India which has decided to introduce Pentavalent vaccine in the national immunization programme in selected states, Haryana is one of these select states.

Pentavalent vaccine provides protection to a child from 5 life-threatening diseases – Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepatitis B and Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b). DPT (Diptheria+Pertussis+Tetanus) and Hep B are already part of routine immunization in India. Speaking at the occassion Dr Ganesan said that this is a costly vaccine if it is bought privately, which shall be available at Civil hospital henceforth. Dr Dayanand gave details about the additional benefit of 2 more vaccines that are integrated in this 5 in 1 vaccination.
