Ms. Alpana Mehta who was injured by a delinquent youth several months ago while she was she was returning from her college, succumbed to her injuries. It may be recalled that the victim a resident of local mohalla Inderputi was attacked upon her head by the accused youth Sonu also residing in the same locality. The victim with grievous Head injuries was admitted to Civil Hospital Sirsa where she breathed her last on Saturday. The police had arrested the accused and booked him in a criminal case under section 307 of the IPC etc.

THE MORTAL remains of Captain Sachin Bhatia who was killed when his Army helicopter co piloted by him met with a mishap and fell into a river Ram Ganga near Bareilly on Wednesday, were consigned to flames in the local Shivpuri Cremation grounds yesterday with full Civil and Military honours. Thousands of people belonging to cross section of society attended the funeral procession. Group captain Air Commander GS. Bedi from the local Air Force Station. placed a wreath on his body on behalf of Air Force, Dr, KV. Singh OSD to Haryana Chief Minister and Deputy Commissioner SK. Goyal placed wreaths on behalf of State Government. A contingent of Army, (82 Armed 10 Mech Dn.) fired 3 rounds in the air near his pyre to pay homage.The cortege was escorted by the local police led by SHO Ajay Sharma. His body in a casket wrapped in Tri-Colour arrived in the cremation grounds at 10.30 am. His in consoling family members including his mother and a large number of women were also present. Sachin’s younger brother lit the pyre. Major K. Dubey who along with Subedar Major Ved Prakash accompanied the coffin from Bareilly later while talking to news men said that Sachin along with Major K. Singh was on a TRAINING SORTY when the unfortunate mishap occurred. He said that the exact cause of death was still unknown as his post-mortem report was not yet received.

Was to celebrate his 27th Birth day on 3rd December and first marriage anniversary on 4th December.
Was married to Neetika of Hansi an IDBI Bank official last year on 4th December last year only.
Father Ashok Bhatia patwari in revenue department, mother a teacher.
Dead Body brought to Sirsa on an Air Force carrier wrapped in Tricolor.

Pilot, Capt. Sachin Bhatia (26) and his copilot KD Singh, both from Sikh Regiment of Indian Army, The Army Chopper they were flying crashed in river Ramganga flowing through village Oonchaagaon near Bareilly (UP), KD Singh was rescued by fishermen from drowning in Ramganga. Sachin could not be saved as his belt kept him trapped in the chopper.

Addressing a seminar in continuation of National Press Day week, organized by HUJ at Surkhab Tourist complex Sirsa, Mr. Deepender Hooda MP Rohtak said that raising of regional divisive issues is retrogressive, and the call of the time is to talk about nation. He was commenting on the question raised by Sr Journalist Dr. OP Bansal about the happenings of Maharastra by the courtesy of Raj Thakre alikes.
Mr Deepender Hooda who is B.Tech & MBA has the experience of working with MNCs in India as well as in the USA before he joined active politics.
Mr Hooda said that the alliance of BJP – INLD has already been tasted and tested by people of Haryana and have rejected it in toto in the last elections. Whatever illusions these two parties may have about the success of this alliance, electorate of Haryana cannot be enchanted with their day dreams.
Mr. Bhupender Dharmani national gen. Secretary NUJ apprised of the pending demands of working journalists to the visiting MP. Before that Mr. Baljit Singh state gen secertary HUJ thanked the Haryana Govt and CM Haryana, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda by announcing several welfare plans for journalists very recently in Rohtak on the Press Day. It was apprised to Mr. Deepender Hooda that journalists working with TV Media and Web Media have been still totally ignored in the new media policy, and that they should also be given there due place. The MP gave a keen ear to the demands and assured that he shall forward the issues.

Dr. John V. George Director General Prisons (Haryana) participated in the Inaugural Ardas at the opening of Gurdwara Ichapurni inside Distt. Jail Sirsa yesterday.
Superintendent of Jail Mr. J.S. Sethi HPS, told Sirsa NEWS that the Gurdwara has been build by the efforts and funds raised by the inmates and their relatives was also constructed by the inmates themselves, this including all the masonry carpentry and plumbing works. A Mandir, Brahmkumaris Ashram and a Pir Baba Dargah already exist at the Jail premises.

Mr Amitabh Dhillon IPS SP Sirsa, Mr. L.S. Jaakhar, Supdt. Central Jail Bhatinda, Mrs. Shashi Ahlawat Supdt. Central Jail Hisar, Mr Sanjeev Kalra lecturer GPW, Mr. Lalit Jain of Jaidev Sahdev, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh of Sarv Siksha Abhiyaan Mr. Sher Singh Mallewala, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Khalsa of Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Sabha, Sant Gurmeet Singh Tilokewale, Mr. Surinder Singh Vaidwala, Mr. Sanjeev Patter Deputy Supdt. Jail, DPRO Mr. Satish Mehra, Mr. Bhupesh Mehta, Dr. Subhash Narula and several social workers from city were also present at the occassion.

Talking to press and media, DGP Dr. John V. Geoge said that Mobile Signal Jammers of all mobile companies would be shortly installed in the Jails in Haryana to ensure that the Jail inmates in illegally smuggled Cell phones could not make any use of such gadgets. While addressing media persons here within the district Jail premises today Dr. John. V. George, the Director General of Prisons, Haryana said that continuous efforts are being made by the Prison authorities to combat the scourge of smuggling of various contraband products or efforts of Jail breaks by the jail inmates through all possible dubious and devious means. He said that neither the jail inmates would stop their endeavour to cheat the authorities in procuring illegal smuggled article nor the authorities would slacken their efforts in dealing with the perennial menace. Later he opened up “Ichhapoorak Gurudwara” constructed by the Jail inmates with their own labour and their own resources, by unveiling the Wall Stone on the gurudwara’s wall and offering ‘Ardas’. He said such religious places in a Prison provide an easy access to the inmates to meditate and reform themselves. He said a plethora of Jail reforms like providing potable water, basic education and Yoga classes are on the list of priority of the Prison authorities. In his address Deputy Commissioner SK. Goyal declared that the district administration would provide all possible assistance and help to see that the Sirsa District Jail becomes a model jail in the state.

2 KILLED, 10 INJURED IN TATA SUMMO- ROADWAY BUS HEADON COLLISION.
2 PERSONS WERE killed and 10 others were seriously injured in a headon collusion between a Tata Sumo and a Haryana Roadways Bus near village Moriwala on National Highway about 22 kms from here today. According to sources the ill-fated Summo was heading towards Hansi and the Bus was on its way to Sirsa when the mishap occurred. A passenger in the Tata Summo’s driver Khazan Chand and Darshana Devi a resident of local Rania gate who was traveling in it died on the spot. All the injured were admitted to the local Civil Hospital. The Ding police of the district are investigating.


8 KILLED, 5 INJURED TRACTOR-TRUCK COLLISION.
IN A heart rending road mishap 8 persons were killed and 5 others were grievously injured when the Tractor trailer they were traveling in was hit by a speeding Truck near village Moriwala on National Highway No. 10 on Sunday late afternoon when they were returning after participating in a religious function at village Sikanderpur. On getting information ADC YS. Khialia, SDM Harish Bhatia and DSP Dr. Dheeraj Setia accompanied by Traffic Police rushed to the spot to assist and supervise the rescue and relief work. All the injured including Des Raj and Ladha Ram etc. were shifted to the local Civil Hospital. Accordng to police sources some of the victims including Rampiari (40), Rita (18), Kaka (16),Soma rani (17), Sunita (18) and Amandeep Kaur (13) died on the spot. One of most critically injured died on way to Rohtak.

AT THE ‘SHRADHANJLI SAMAROH’ organized at Jiwan Nagar. (Sirsa) today rich tributes were paid to the late Maharaj Bir Singh ji Namdhari the younger brother of the Chief of Namdhari sect Satguru Jagjit Singh ji. A plethora of people from all walks of life including politicians of various hues, representatives of various Religions, thousands of his devout followers paid glowing tributes to the departed religious leader.
Ch. Om Parkash Chautala, former Haryana Chief Minister and INLD supreme while reminiscing his association with the late Maharaj ji said that Bir Singh had been a great reformer and a dedicated and devout follower of Namdhari tenets. He said that he was a great crusader against social evils like illiteracy, dowry system and was an ardent supporter of secularism.
Dr. KV. Singh OSD with Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on behalf of Mr. Hooda in his address said that Maharj Bir Singh Ji had throughout his life followed the path shown by the greatest freedom fighter Satguru Ram Singh ji who was deported to Burma by our alien rulers during the Kooka uprising against the British rulers. Mr. Jagdish Nehra former irrigation minister also spoke. .
Ch. Bhajan Lal another former Haryana Minister also came to pay tributes and shared the same sofa on the dais with Mr. Chautala, but could not address the gathering and instead his proxy Ch. Maniram Keharwala paid tributes to the departed soul.
Prominent amongst others who also paid their ‘shradhanjli’ were— Atma Singh Gill MP, MLAs Bharat Singh Beniwal, Sushil Indora, Jagdish Nehra Sr. vice president of HPCC, Prof. Ganeshi Lal on behalf of BJP, Balkor Singh on behalf of SGPC, Jagdish Singh Jhinda president of Haryana Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee. Mr. Jhinda, while addressing the SAMAROH said that whenever HSGPC is established, Namdhari Sikhs shall be given due representation in the same, he also bestowed a Siropa and Shree Sahib to Thakur Dalip Singh, while Amarjit Singh represented Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh Ji. Mr. Bhupender Dharmani spoke on behalf of NUJ (National Union of Journalists), Comrade Swarn Singh Wirk anchored the event and enriched it with historical anecdotes throughout the Samaroh.

Thakur Uday Singh also remained present at the 'SHRADHANJALI SAMAROH' for several hours on day One, i.e. on 01 November, during the religious sermons and Gurbani Path.
Overwhelmed by the presence of large number of devotees, Thakur Dalip Singh thanked the 'Sangat' (congregation) and the visiting dignitaries emotionally at the end of the SHRADHANJALI SAMAROH.
