A memorial program to mark the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was inaugurated yesterday by the chief guest, Mr. Subhash Sheoran, S.D.M. Ellenabad at Ram Lila Grounds Ellenabad. The Guest of Honour at the function was Comrade Baldev Bakshi, AIYF State president Mr. Hardev Josh presided over the function, Comrade Swarn Singh Wirk, Roshan Suchan, and Comrade Baldev Bakshi, addressed the gathering, Lok Kala Manch, from Zira, Punjab presented shorts plays on the lives of the revolutionaries at a largely attended function.

CONGRESS would emerge as the largest single party in the parliament after the Lok Shaba polls next year, claimed Kumari Selja the Union Minister of State for Poverty alleviation and Urban Development. While addressing media persons here she asserted that she would contest the next election from the Ambala Parliamentary seat. She said that during the present regime the Congress led UPA Government has done a lot for ending the menace of corruption by implementing the Right to Information Act. She claimed that the Act would go a long way in ensuring transparency in the functioning of the bureaucracy throughout th country. She claimed that the Union Govt has adopted a plethora of development schemes for the poor and the unemployed by implementing National Rural Employment Guarantee Act which ensures minimum 100 days employment to the unemployed persons in the villages throughout the country. The Minister claimed that it was the Congress which was instrumental in ending the India’s nuclear isolation in the International arena by signing the Indo-US Civil nuclear deal and the future posterities would remember Congress with gratitude for signing this pact. She further claimed that the fully confident Congress would contest the next elections as the poor masses irrespective of caste creed or Parochial considerations are fully aligned with it. Later she participated in a Seminar on Environment and the society held under the aegis of National Welfare Organisation, as the chief guest.

The designs and creations were appreciated by large number of women guests on the occasion. Ms. Shalu informed that now the designs that women craved for and often had to go to Patiala Ludhiana and Delhi etc shall now be made to order as per the choice and wishes of the customers and along with this imitation jewellery and cosmetics shall also be made available. After the ritual of Bhumipujan, Vice Chancellor of CDLU, Dr. K.C. Bhardwaj today gave green signal to the construction of multipurpose hall and Library. An amount of Rs34 crore will be spent on both the projects, PRO of CDLU Mr. Amit Sangwan informed Sirsa News.

In a move to step up the demand for a separate Sikh Gurdwara panel for Haryana, Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (Adhoc) is holding a huge Sikh Conference in KARNAL at Gurdwara Kar Sewa Kalandhari Gate today. Thousands of Sikhs from District, Sirsa also left to attend this conference early morning today on buses, jeeps Tata Sumos, mini vans and cars etc to throw in weight in support of the separate committee.

CHAUTALA PROMISES TO REMOVE TRADERS’ GRIEVANCES.
Former Haryana Chief Minister and INLD supreme Om Prakash Chautala while Sirsa traders late last night assured them that if his party to power in the state, he would implement all the recommendations of the Trader’s Committee. He claimed that there was strong under current of resentment and anger amongst the common public against the Congress Governments both in the State as well at the Centre for pursuing anti-people policies. Mr. Chautala alleged large scale bungling and cheating with the farmers in the promotion of SEZs in the state. He alleged that all sections of society including traders, Students, employees were disenchanted with the so called progressive policies of the Congress and wanted immediate change in the Government. He said the farming community was badly affected in the state due to acute shortage of water and power and hardly any day passes when the farmers do not protest against the present Government and block highways to protest these shortages. He declared that the INLD would hold protests against these shortages and also against the bungling in preparing the lists of families living below Poverty lines at all district Head quarters in the state on September 01.





INLD TAKS OUT PROTEST MARCH IN SIRSA.
Hundreds of INLD (Indian National Lok Dal) workers and party's sympathizers led by Party’s district president Padam Jain and former MLA Bhagiram today took out a protest march against acute power and water shortages, bungling in the preparation of the BPL lists and Government’s failure to procure ‘Bajra’ on the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs.840.00 per Quintal. The protesters assembled in the local Anaj Mandi from where they started their march. While addressing them Mr. Jain alleged that the Haryana Government has failed on all fronts and can not even provide sufficient drinking or irrigation water or the Power to the farmers for running their tube wells. He alleged that the ‘Bajra’ crop is not being procured at the MSP and instead it was being purchased at a throwaway price of Rs 700.00 per quintal thereby causing heavy losses to the famers. The slogan shouting protesters after passing through the main streets of the town arrived at the Mini secretariat where they handed over a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner.

A Gurmat Training Camp was recently organized at Gurdwara Sahib, Chormaar Khera village stuated on NH10 Sirsa. The five day Gurmat Camp was held at the campus of Dashmesh Sr. Sec. School & Gurdwara Chormar Sahib. More than 90 children form various age groups participated in the camp that was divided into four segments spread over different classes and the fourth group was open to all even for those who were not students. Dr. Balbir Singh Gen. Secretary of the school informed Sirsa News that authentic knowledge about Sikh history, Sikh customs was imparted to the paticipants, Gurbani recitation and singing was taught by volunteers from Gurmat Gian Missionary College Ludhiana, Punjab. Jathedar Jagtar Singh Akali played the active role of bringing the learned Sikhs from the College to this remote part of Haryana for the benefits of the Sikhs. 10 of the participants vowed not to cut their hair.

Langer Pani Sewa round the clock was from Gurdwara Sahib. On the valediction day Baba Karam Singh ji, President Gurdwara Sahib Chormar gave away certificates of appreciation to all the participants. It may be mentioned here that the Gurdwara is managed under the able directions of Baba Karam Singh ji, a soft spoken personality Baba Karam Singh gets himself involved with the Sewadars, his motivating ways, cheerful & benign personality is popular with the Sewadars as well with those who visit the Gurdwara Sahib.

Mr. Balbir Singh told Sirsa News that Baba Karam Singh has education high on his agenda and for this he has opened the Sr School and that too affiliated to the CBSE board so that the students of this backward region get education from the CBSE board that has more popular appeal that the state board. But along with imparting education imbibing cultural values is a priority. The school is self funding and does not gets any aid from SGPC. Students from all communities are welcomed and are encouraged to take admissions in this school to maintain secular nature of Sikh Religion.
