Haemcon09: Watch Videos of the Conference and interviews of Dr Jasjeet Kaur Deputy Director Blood Safety; Sh YS Khyalia DC Sirsa below:

Make ‘Jai Rakt Data’ your greeting salutation- YS Khyalia.
Blood should be waiting for the patient instead of patient waiting for the blood. - YS Khyalia Deputy Commissioner SIRSA
Nayaa Saal Nayaa Savera two-day workshop for training of blood donor motivators and blood-camp held at CMK College Auditorium.
Thousands of delegates from all over Haryana participated in the workshop organized by the Haryana State Blood Transfusion Council (HSBTC), Shiv Shakti Rakta Datta Samiti, Sirsa, Indian Red Cross Society, Indian Society of Blood Transfusion, Indian Medical Association and half a dozen of other organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner, Sirsa, Yudhbir Singh Khyalia, said that today the few seated on the dais in this function are not VIPs, in fact all who are present here are VIPs, as all of us are connected to the noblest cause of blood donation and motivation for blood donation, in one way or the other, so no one is less important than any other.

Apart from Mr. Khyalia, Dr. Jasjeet Kaur, Deputy Director Blood safety Haryana & Dr. Ved Beniwal founder chairman Shiv Shakti Rakt Data Samiti were the keynote speakers at the morning session of the two day workshop.

Dr Beniwal said that the aim of workshop is to motivate new blood donors in a scientific way, he said that he is connected to rural India and he is aware that it is not easy to break the barrier between a non-donor and a donor, but once this hurdle is over the donor also becomes a successful motivator, as he is well connected to his community and society at all levels. He said blood from voluntary & regular blood donors collected by blood banks was considered to be the safest blood for transfusion as it comes from persons, who are regularly tested for various communicable diseases and the risk of window period where infections can escape the testing are minimized. He mentioned that Shiv Shakti Blood Bank in Sirsa can boast of state of the art facilities and is ably manned by ever hardworking Dr. RM Arora.

Dr Jasjeet Kaur said, “Though overall there may not much gap between demand and supply of blood in Haryana but this is not evenly distributed, like Sirsa which boasts of even making it to the Guinness Book of World record of holding largest no of Donors at a blood donation camp in a single day, we need to make blood donation available evenly at all places so that in an emergency sufficient quantity of safe blood is available as close as possible to the needy.” ‘Nayaa saal Nayaa Savera’ mission from 1st January 2010 shall be an effort to meet the above goal” she added.

About Commemoration Day (A SirsaNews Special)
Soon after Independence, contingents of the CRPF were sent on Kutch, Rajasthan and Sindh borders to check infiltration and trans-border crimes. They were, subsequently, deployed on the Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir following attacks launched by the Pakistani infiltrators. The CRPF bore the brunt of the first Chinese attack on India at Hot Springs (Ladakh) on October 21, 1959. A small CRPF patrol was ambushed by the Chinese in which ten of its men made their supreme sacrifice for the country. Their martyrdom on October 21 is remembered throughout the country as the Police Commemoration Day every year.

In Sirsa rich homage was paid by various officers and Jawans of the Police Force at Police Lines Campus today. ASP Sajjan Singh, DSP HQ SS Sheoran, SHO City Sh. Hansraj, Sh Jagdish Chander SHO Sadar also paid homage. See Pictures.

66 % VOTING IN SIRSA CONSTITUENCY. POLLING in the Sirsa Assembly constituency started at a very sluggish rate early in the morning but picked up a little after about 10am and till 1PM about 40 to 45% polling had taken place in the town booths and also in the 31 villages of the constituency. Except some sporadic minor incidents of verbal duels between the supporters no major incident was reported from any where in the constituency. At booth No. 34 in the town there was an angry exchange of words between the supporters of INLD workers and an Independent candidate Gopal Kanda over vote No.525 of a deceased person which was got polled by a fictitious person and the polling remained suspended for about 20 minutes but timely intervention of the security forces averted an awkward situation. The polling officer was consequently changed and soon the polling process restarted. A vehicle belonging to some independent candidate was impounded from which a .32 bore gun and 2 live cartridges along with some lathis was spotted from near the booth no. 76 in village Khwaja Khera on the outskirts of the town and a criminal case against some unknown people was registered by the Sirsa Sadar Police station. With the passage of time the polling gained momentum and a polling of 66 % was reported at the end of the election time.

While addressing a mammoth gathering here today, Congress president and UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi claimed that Congress was synonymous with peace progress and development of all sections of society without any consideration of cast creed or religion. Mrs. Gandhi who came for appealing the people to vote for the Congress candidates during her 10 minutes speech asserted that when in 2005 the Congress Governments lead by Bhupinder Singh Hooda came to power in Haryana it inherited a completely ravaged state where the law and order situation had touched the lowest ebb. She also expressed her confidence that the people of Haryana, after beholding a plethora of all-round development in the state would certainly bring the Congress back to power after electing the Congress candidates during the ongoing elections. Making a dig at the opposition she iterated that whenever opposition parties came to power, they ruthlessly ruined and ravaged the state for their self aggrandizement. Regarding the development of Sirsa she averred without naming that the previous regime (Chautala’s) established a University and christened at Ch Devi Lal University but altogether neglected to develop any infrastructure needed for a viable University, and it was only after Mr. Hooda came to power in 2005 that the still born University was resuscitated back to life and has now become a first class University due to assiduous efforts of Mr. Hooda. It was also due to the farsightedness of Mr. Hooda that the revenue record of all the land has been computerized which will prove to be a boon for the society. She said that shortly water harvesting system would be started. The Congress president said that in order to extricate the farmers from the scourge of loans the Congress Government waived their loans worth Rs.71000 Crores and a law was enacted that all the farmers who failed o repay their loans would neither sent to jails nor their lands would be auctioned. During his short address Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, while taking an oblique potshot on Mr. OP Chautala said that now Mr. Chautala had been begging for votes by saying “Ab aap mujhe pichlee galatiyon ko maaf karke Vote do” and appealed the people to shot back at him saying that “ Chautala ji ab aap hamain maaf karo”
