A state seminar was organized by Haryana State Legal Services Authority (For more details of HSLSA visit: http://www.hslsa.nic.in/ ) at Sirsa Police lines Grounds yesterday, the seminar was presided over by Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Courts, Mr. Justice Vijender Jain, and CM Haryana Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda. (See Sirsa NEWS Exclusive Video Clips of CM & CJ)

Addressing a legal literacy seminar on “Eradication of female foeticide and drug de-addiction” organised by the Haryana State Legal Services Authority at Sirsa, Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that legislative, executive and judicial efforts were not enough to eradicate female foeticide and drug de-addiction.

He was obviously taking the clue from what Dr. Ved Beniwal Chairman ISBTI Haryana had highlighted in his address that banning of the prenatal tests to ascertain the sex of the foetus had been successful but this alone is not enough, the number of prenatal tests leading to female foeticide might have decreased, but the drop in number of such tests has translated in cases of abandoning and throwing away of new born female infants in dustbins and here and there. (See Sirsa NEWS Exclusive video Clip of Dr. Ved Beniwal)

The Chief Minister asserted that these social evils could be nipped in the bud with active participation and cooperation of every section of society by making it a mass movement. He stressed on the need for effective implementation of the Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994, Mr. Hooda said the State Government had implemented it in letter and spirit.

The Government had launched several welfare schemes like Ladli, Indira Gandhi Kanya Shagun Yojana, two per cent rebate on stamp duty in property matters, 10 paisa per unit exemption in electricity bills and 25 per cent reservation in technical institutions for the welfare of women, he pointed out. Education had also been given utmost priority, he added.

The CM, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda also announced a reward of Rs.5 lakh for the village that would excel in checking female foeticide and drug de-addiction at the State level and Rs.1 lakh at the district level.

The Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Courts, While admitting that Sirsa district, surrounded by Rajasthan and Punjab, was worst affected by the problem of drug addiction, called upon all social organizations to help in eradicating these social evils.

The Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court who is also Patron-in-Chief of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority, Justice Vijender Jain, said that female foeticide was a major sin. It was a harsh reality that even after enactment and implementation of laws, human attitude towards solving such social evils had not fully changed so far.

Justice Vijender Jain asserted that the concept of woman empowerment could not be successful without eradication of female foeticide.

Haryana Health Secretary Navraj Sandhu informed that the State had made about 6,000 inspections, seized more than 100 ultra sound machines and suspended 165 licences for effective implementation of PNDT Act, 1994.

Deputy Commissioner Sirsa, Mr. V. Umashankar said with the efforts of the district administration and 29 NGOs, 178 villages had been adopted to eradicate female foeticide and drug de-addiction. (See Sirsa NEWS Exclusive Video Clip of V. Umashankar)

The Executive Chairman of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority, Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel, Justice R.S. Madan and Justice Nawab Singh, Justice PPS Mann along with many other senior officers were among those present.

The lectures at the seminar were supplemented by various cultural items staged by various groups; the choreography by Sanjeev Shad of Dabwali was applauded greatly it was enacted by students of Haryana People Public School Mandi Dabwali.

The Branala leading to the Seminar Venue was lined up with eye catching billboards against female foeticide and drugs put by MDLR Airlines, IMA Sirsa, and some other social organizations.

The seminar was attended by IMA doctors, Academicians, Lawyers, and large number of Women and men from villages of Sirsa as well as by Panches, Sarpanches, Health workers and paramedics.
Two books and a CD were also released in the seminar.

At present, he is working as OSD to Chief Minister Haryana, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda since March, 2005.

The Medical Council of India was established in 1934 under the Indian Medical Council Act, 1933, now repealed, with the main function of establishing uniform standards of higher qualifications in medicine and recognition of medical qualifications in India and abroad. Some of the objectives of the Council are: Maintenance of uniform standards of medical education, both undergraduate and postgraduate.
Recommendation for recognition/de-recognition of medical qualifications of medical institutions of India or foreign countries.
Permanent registration/provisional registration of doctors with recognised medical qualifications, Reciprocity with foreign countries in the matter of mutual recognition of medical qualifications.

Mr. Shankar Samrat a noted magician met media persons at a get together on the eve of start of his magic shows in the city, said that magic is a performing art and should be given government protection so that this fine art that is fast dying does not see untimely death. He wanted the government to set up a Jaadu Academy on the pattern of Lalit Kala Academy. He agreed that the presence of television has somewhat taken a toll on performing arts and magic shows are no exception to this, but still there are people who love to see magic shows and other performing arts.

He clarified that there is nothing supernatural in magic art, and it is like any other skill but is perhaps more difficult to learn as it combines several skill together. He said that magic is still very popular abroad where unlike India, people do not see it as a supernatural power but do appreciate the performance of magicians.

The magician launched his shows at Suraj Theater Sirsa by giving a breathtaking performance of riding a motorcycle blindfolded amidst busy city roads.
Shankar Samrat told Sirsa NEWS that he had sentimental attachment with SIRSA, as his birth place is Ellenabad, a subdivision of SIRSA. He said a part of the revenue from tickets shall go to CM Haryana Relief fund.

HMSRU is an affiliate of FMRAI (FEDERATION OF MEDICAL & SALES REPRESENTATIVES’ ASSOCIATIONS OF INDIA)

Background of FMRAI was first formed at Hyderabad in 1962 where it aimed to improve living conditions of the Medical Representatives. It has traveled a long way in building itself as real trade union body. Form the idea that the medical representatives are not workers but somewhat like managers to demand and agitate for recognition as workmen took almost a decade. The management of the pharmaceuticals industry always isolated the medical representatives from the other workers in the factory and office. There was inhibition from the medical representatives also to consider themselves as a workman.

Talking to media persons at the office of Mr. Baljit Singh (Distt. president HUJ), Rebel Congress MP Kuldeep Bishnoi who does not leave any opportunity to criticize Congress and leaders of the party today said there was no chance of return to or having anything to do with Sonia Congress. He said at one time he was mesmerized by Mr. Sonia Gandhi sacrifice, but he was grossly disillusioned at that time. But the events and the mode of working of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi has cleared off all the clouds and now its clear that she is doing politics of the self only. He said that electorate of Haryana had voted Sh Bhajan Lal as CM, but The Congress betrayed the verdict of people of Haryana.

About SEZ
He said that he was the first person to oppose the SEZs but basically he is against the manner these SEZ are being proposed. Developing SEZs in NCR area is pointless, these are already Industrially Developed. Such projects should come in areas where Ind Growth is stunted, he said.
About N-Deal
He said that he had examined the 123 act and he was always with the Prime Minister on this issue. He always supported the Indo US Civil Nuclear Deal, and held PM Manmohan Singh in High Esteem even since early nineties when he was FM and Indian Economy was in doldrums, at that time, the policies of Manmohan Singh bailed out the country out of economic crisis, but lately he (Manmohan Singh) has become a victim to the ugly politics of Sonia Gandhi and UPA allies.

About 3rd Front, he said that it’s not a viable dream

About the Name of New Party
Like all his press conferences, Kuldeep Bishnoi once again ducked questions on the name of his proposed party or its agenda. “Wait till December 2, Chaudhary Bhajan Lal shall not disappoint anyone” was his only reply.

About Corruption
He said that corruption has become a deep rooted problem, given a chance to rule Haryana he shall strive hard to give a clean administration sans corruption.

Sardar Singh Namdhari on his maiden visit to Sirsa, his home district after India winning the Men’s Hockey Asia Cup 2007, held at Chennai, got a red carpet welcome, by sports lovers, hockey fans, media, and district administration.

Sradar Singh Namdhari who belongs to Village Sant Nagar of SIRSA held important key position in the Indian team, credits his success to his parents and the training he got at Namdhari Sports Academy at Namdhari Sect Headquarters at Vill Bhainee Sahib in Ludhiana Punjab.

Mr. V. Umashankar who himself had been a keen hockey enthusiast announced cash incentive of Rs. One lakh to Sardar Singh for the laurels he brought to Indian hockey and SIRSA. The announcement was applauded by Bolo So Nihaal….reverberations [Watch and listen V. Umashankar in the SIRSA NEWS Video in this post]

Sardar Singh Namdhari told Sirsa NEWS that: The 2007 Men's Hockey Asia Cup was the seventh tournament of the Hockey Asia Cup for men. It was held from August 31 to September 9, 2007 in Chennai, India.

India thrashed Korea in the finals by a thumping 7-2 margin. They led 3-1 at halftime in a match which was ill-tempered at times and where India displayed superior skills and control. Early in the second half, Korea staged a walkout led by their coach for an umpiring decision to disallow a goal scored by Korea. Replays clearly showed that the Korean forward had struck the ball from outside the striking circle. To make matters worse for Koreans, India scored a goal through a brilliant counter attack in the very next minute with two Korean forwards still arguing with the umpire on the goal that was disallowed. Korea never recovered from that and after that, India's forward line went on a rampage in the second half scoring 3 more goals to make it 7-1 before Korea reduced the margin to 2-7 in the penultimate minute. Baljit Singh, the Indian goalkeeper, was declared the man of the match for his excellent saves. The striking feature of India's win was that all the 7 goals were 'field' goals and none of them came through 'penalty corners' or 'strokes'. India thus ended the tournament with 57 goals for and just 5 goals against them.
