In a public function held
to rejoice Amit Sihag elected to the post of President Haryana Youth Congress,
Dr Ashok Tanwar MP Sirsa and Mr Deepender Hooda MP Rohtak, felicitated the
young leader on his achievement. The Nagrik Abhinandan was held on the cold
evening of Christmas at Anaj Mandi Sirsa. Incidenetly birthday of Dr KV Singh

Pentavalent Vaccination
introduced at Civil Hospital SIRSA from 21st Dec 2012. Deputy Commissioner
SIRSA Dr J Ganesan inaugurated the start of immunization with Pentavalent.
This is as per program of The Government
of India which has decided to introduce Pentavalent vaccine in the national
immunization programme in selected states, Haryana is one of these select states.

Pentavalent vaccine provides protection to a child from 5 life-threatening diseases – Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepatitis B and Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b). DPT (Diptheria+Pertussis+Tetanus) and Hep B are already part of routine immunization in India. Speaking at the occassion Dr Ganesan said that this is a costly vaccine if it is bought privately, which shall be available at Civil hospital henceforth. Dr Dayanand gave details about the additional benefit of 2 more vaccines that are integrated in this 5 in 1 vaccination.

The transformation of Uday Singh from being a corporate expert in agriculture to becoming the chief of Namdhari sect has been both unexpected and unusual. The head of the country's biggest vegetable and flower seed producing company, Indian Seed and India Pacific Seed Associations, Uday Singh was yesterday crowned as the new sect chief at a 'dastarbandi' (turban tying) ceremony in Bhaini Sahib in Khanna.
But, the crowning also a controversy attached to it. Another claimant to the top post after the death of Satguru Jagjit Singh was Thakur Dalip Singh who, in an unprecedented gesture, wants the crown to go the former head's widow Mata Chand Kaur.
Interestingly, Mata Chand Kaur herself had named Thakur Uday Singh as the successor.
Controversies apart, it is now Satguru Uday Singh who has been in command of the sect, members of which sport a white dress, including turbans. No Namdhari is allowed to remain without a turban. The sect that fought the British under Satguru Ram Singh is known for not only protecting and preserving Sahiwal breed of Indian cow but also in fighting social evils like dowry, female foeticide and drugs.
"My job is to carry forward the social and spiritual crusades started by Satguru Ram Singh and continued by Satguru Jagjit Singh," says Satguru Uday Singh.
His grooming into spirituality has been under none other than Satguru Jagjit Singh himself.
It was in the early 80s that Satguru Jagjit Singh wanted Uday Singh to look after his farm of about 200 acres. "After a couple of years of traditional farming, we switched to seed production. Our most popular productions are sweet water melon and tomatoes, besides other vegetables and flowers. We are the largest producers of vegetable seeds in the country," claims Satguru Uday Singh.
A graduate, he also looks after 1,000 acre seed farm in Andhra and Protective Seed Protection in Ooty. While classical music is in his blood, he has also been associated with the Namdhari hockey team that has produced three Olympians, including mercurial Sardar Singh and a score of national-level players.
Satguru Uday Singh has also been one of the brains behind the super-speciality 300-bedded Apollo Hospital in Ludhiana.

A Shradhanjali Samaroh
for Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji was held today at Sri Jiwan Nagar, Distt Sirsa,
Haryana, where Namdhari Sangat from across the country as well as from
around the globe gathered in thousands to pay their obeisance to their departed
Guru. This Shradhanjali Samaroh was prompted by the fact that Bebe
Ji, Thakur Dalip Singh Ji, his family and Namdhari Sangat in
thousands were denied the right of Antim Darshan of their Guru at the
funeral held at Sri Bhaini Sahib near Ludhiana on 14th of December 2012.
[Bebe Ji
is widow of Maharaja Bir Singh Ji. Late Maharaj Bir Singh was the younger son
of Satguru Pratap Singh Ji & the younger brother of Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji.
Thakur Dalip Singh is elder brother of Thakur Uday Singh, both Dalip and Uday
are sons of Late Maharaj Bir Singh ji]
The despicable attitude
of the Parbandhaks at Sri Bhaini Sahib in the manner they
addressed the Namdhari Sangat during the last week of Satguru
Ji’s illness and the denial of the last Darshans of their Guru before
the funeral raised tempers amongst all that had been waiting for days at the
gates of the Namdhari Appolo hospital Ludhiana and later at Sri Bhaini Sahib.
The international Sangat had travelled miles to pay their respects to
their Guru but unfortunately the Parbandhaks forgoing the
responsibilities of a Gurudwara towards the Sangat decided to complete
the antim saskar in haste without giving sufficient time to all in
transit to reach the Gurdwara at Sri Bhain Sahib.
Sri Bhaini Sahib is the
headquarters of the Namdharis, and the most revered Gurdwara for all
Namdharis. Every member of the Sangat is entitled by the Guru to come to
the Gurdwara at any time to seek blessings. The barricading of the Gurdwara
with the help of police force that seemed to exceed the Sangat in numbers
during the funeral destroyed the sanctity of the shrine and raised questions on
the motives of the ‘Parbandhaks’. The last rites of the Guru being
completed in such short notice and the denial to the Sangat to do Antim
Darshan of the Guru, raises doubts and seeks answers to these dubious
questions.
Thakur Dalip Singh Ji to
whom Satguru Ji was not just a spiritual leader but his mentor, guide and foremost
‘A Father’, was denied Darshan during his illness at Sri Bhaini Sahib
and at the SPS Apollo hospital. The reasons for this embargo on Thakur Dalip
Singh’s family by the Parbandhaks are still unknown. It is alleged that
in addition, to enforce this embargo, they asked the Superintendent of Police
Ludhiana to assist them in implementing the same, who in turn sent an order
instructing Thakur Ji to leave Ludhiana as his presence in the city could cause
unrest.
Repeated attempts over
the last few years by Thakur Dalip Singh & the Sangat to reconcile
the matter in the better interest of the Sangat and the Panth
have been rejected by Bhaini Sahib Parbandhaks, specifically a handful
of individuals, and without any reasonable explanation. Many a time they have
said ‘There have been many divisions in several Panths in the past,
including the Namdhari Panth, a few more would not matter’ leaving no
room for reconciliation. This leaves no doubt that their intention is more in
their own interest than that of the Sangat and hence against the very spiritual
intent and existence of a Gurudwara. Thakur Dalip Singh and the Sangat were
still pursuing towards a ‘collaborative approach’ for the Bhog of Sri Satguru
Ji, whose demise has been a huge setback to the panth and left many in grief.
But the absolute refusal from their (Bhaini Sahib) end to even consider
allowing Bebe ji, Thakur Ji and many others from the Namdhari Sangat
to enter the premises of the Gurudwara, which has been turned into a fort with
more police force than has ever been at any religious shrine for such an
occasion. This prompted the Sangat to come together at Sri Jiwan Nagar for the Shradhanjali
Samroh today in an atmosphere apt for the occasion with all members of the panth.
The Sangat along with Thakur Dalip Singh Ji made multiple attempts to
invite Mata Chand Kaur Ji to the Shradhanjali Samaroh at Jiwan Nagar as
the Guru Mata of the Sangat, but none were accepted.
Today Sangat has
gathered here from around the world- USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Thailand, Dubai
as well from several areas of India such as Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Tarn
Tarn, Mukerian, Dera Baba Nanak, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Mohali, Yamuna Nagar,
Sirsa, Hisar, Karnal, Delhi Panipat, Mandi Saket and SunderNagar (HP), Bazpur,
Kanpur, Gwalior, Jaipur, Sri Ganga Nagar, Malout, Himmatpura to name a few, in
an earnest attempt to request Thakur Dalip Singh Ji to take care of the Sangat
after the demise of Satguru Ji and be their spiritual leader and lead this Panth
towards a more. This is an excerpt of what has been said from the dais as well
as told by different devotees, including some of the Soobaa’s of Panth
present at the congregation to SirsaNews.

Many of the Suggestions posted in January 2006 Post of Sirsa News during the observation of Road Safety Week in Sirsa are relevant even today! (some of these have been taken up the administration for the good.) Read below:
Charity Begins at home, so does Discipline! As we are observing ‘Road Safety Week’ this week, here are some vital points I’ll like to apprise you about.
Merely observing ‘Road Safety Week’ every year is not bringing the required changes. It is requested that first of all, the adherence to traffic rules and its education should begin from drivers of Government Vehicles as well the officials who are using these vehicles. As The Government and police vehicles are example to the public
It is a commonplace scene that a large no. of Govt. vehicles invariably break the traffic rules, They park their vehicles in the right hand lane at railway crossings. These include vehicles of the POLICE as well. Most of the time the red roof light beacons, hooter, sirens are used in place of horns even if the designated officer is not in the car/jeep. At times even if the concerned official is in the vehicle the hooters are used without justification as if the officer is going on some big pursuit while in reality he is getting the traffic cleared just to reach home or some Public/Political function, which in no terms is any kind of emergency. It is requested that these kinds of irregularities should be checked with immediate effect. Haryana claims to be entering the IT era, wonder with this kind of insensitivities from the people who run the administration where we are leading?
We expect the same from most of our respected politicians but given the kind of education and the political environment (sparing few exceptions!), this is going to be a distant dream. But our educated Officers and their subordinates can definitely put up a better show.
Suggestions: 1. Merely observing a ‘Road Safety Week’ is just not adequate, it’s should be a continuing effort on part of Government machinery to educate it self as well as the masses through out the year. 2. Good illustrated trilingual traffic rules booklet should be published in Hindi English & Punjabi. 3. These should be handed out free or at cost price with every pollution certificate, with every traffic offence Challan. And with every new driving license and insurance policy. 4. The practice of blackening of half of the head light glass should be abandoned, as India now manufactures world class motor vehicles with most modern lighting system. This was useful in very old times when only single filament lamps were fitted in Motor cars, even then the provision was to make a bulls eye in the center of the headlight. 5. People should be taught the proper use of Hi Beam & Lo Beam. Ever wonder what the Use dipper means. As being sometimes advertised by the administration and RTOs. There is no item by the name of dipper on motor vehicles. 6. The berms of the roads are often stocked with heaps of construction materials for months together, a very dangerous situation created by contactors and PWD B&R. They should be booked for causing risk to life of road users. 7. Often right turn signal blinker is used by heavy vehicles to signal pass. Which at times can be misleading. They should be advised, to use right blinker signal for purposes of right turn only. 8. Driving license should not be issued without a proper test by competent authority, the authority its self be also put to test from time to time. 9. Trolleys of tractors should be fixed with reflectors/reflecting tapes at the rear as they do not have any electrical connection and cannot be fitted with rear lights. Other vehicles don’t need this as they have in built reflectors, but the over enthusiastic High police is some to forcing car users also to put on these reflecting tapes. Instead the vehicles with taillights should be checked if these lights are functional or not. 10. The Government drivers and officials should be given refresher courses of safe and gentle driving from time to time; they should never be allowed to have a feeling that they are the privileged users of the roads. 11. The Administration is rightly warning the guardians and the underage drivers of stern action. Even in most advanced countries where roads are much more safer the under aged can just not drive or ride.
Appendix1 Additional Suggestions (to the previous suggestions) Although MV Act has got so many laws and bylaws for road users, some more points that need to be highlighted and may be on some of these, the MV act is silent. These are mentioned below: 1. The road dividers (medians) should not have cuts over a large distance as they also have blinds fixed on these. Sudden appearance of a vehicle from so many cuts over a small distance causes accidents and renders the use of dividers futile. 2. There is a need for developing Traffic Park in SIRSA and at other district head quarters, 3. For the subdivisions there can be multimedia Kiosks (booths) having CBT Consoles (Computer Based Training) using specially developed interactive driving simulation software (driver training suits), this will be a cheaper alternate to Costly Traffic parks that also need a lot of land and finances to develop. 4. All old Chowks are of very high profiled (high height) structure and are hindrance in clear view of the intentions of the traffic coming form other sides. Technically they should be round-abouts of very low profiles (Lo Height), so that even a car user who is usually seated very close to the ground level get a view on the other side; thus be able to judge the intentions of the traffic across the chowk. 5. However the older Chowks cannot be changed as they are attached to religious or political sentiments, but all new Chowks must be made taking care of practically usefulness rather than for appeasement. 6. Pressure Horns and high decibel horns are not allowed by law they should be physically removed from all the vehicles found to be fitted with these, unfortunately here also the State Roadways fleets and Private Bus Operators sanctioned by the RTO boasts of maximum usage of these Pressure Horns causing enormous Noise Pollution and add lot of plight to the nerves of road users. 7. Law requires a Non Polluting Vehicle certificate, that’s OK but who will look into the fact that most of the Gasoline [Petrol] and Diesoline [Diesel] supplied is highly adulterated and is of low quality; a chief cause of Impermissible Emission levels even from new vehicles. 8. The Government is also unclear about the film laws, internationally the front wind shield, the window panes of the driver and co-driver have to be crystal clear, no sticker or any thing that obstructs vision can be pasted on it. But all our stickers viz. Pollution Under Control, special privilege stickers like the Big Rectangle for permitting usage of red roof light, the Big Green Sticker for the permission of black film permit find place only on the front wind shield, causing hindrance to the vision. Are drivers of the privileged vehicles trained in such a way that they can drive well even in obstructive view? 9. Another grave hazard on Indian roads is of the stray cattle; perhaps nothing can be done about it. 10. Mobile phone usage while driving is very dangerous, only those mobile sets that have hands free operation may be allowed. 11. Seat belts and helmets save life it should be responsibility of citizens to use these to make them safer; mostly people wear it just to evade a Challan. 12. Education about rules of road should be mandatory in the school syllabi.
There is need for numerous reforms these are just a few to initiate the change.
Prof. Dr. Deepti Pandita, HOD, Dept. of Pharmaceutics, JCDM College of Pharmacy, Sirsa, was invited to present her research work in International conference “Pharmatech-2012” held between 21st and 22nd November 2012 in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia. A large number of participants from different parts of world participated in the conference. Dr. Deepti in her presentation entitled, “Proniosomes as drug carrier for trans-dermal delivery of Bromocriptin” focused on application of Proniosomes as a promising alternative to the oral route treatment. Dr. Deepti also presented her another research work on, “Development, Characterization and In vitro assessment of Static acid based lipid Nano-particles of Resveratrol” in the conference. About this achievement, Dr. Deepti emphasized that this was a great opportunity for her to share her research ideas at an international platform and interaction with renowned scientists was really fruitful. She added that all this had been possible due to kind support of JCD Vidyapeeth management especially Dr. Shamim Sharma, Managing Director, JCD Vidyapeeth. Dr. Shamim Sharma congratulated Prof. Dr. Deepti Pandita for this great achievement and further added that Vidyapeeth will provide all the necessary infrastructure & facilities to promote research activities in the college and to uplift this institute as one of the best Research and Development institutes in India.
