While addressing media persons at Tara Baba Kutia on the morning of 9th he asserted that in the Ruchika molestation case no accused found guilty would be spared irrespective of his position or status and would not escape the noose of the law. He said that the probe in the case has been handed over to the CBI. He further stated that on the demand of the Ruchika’s kin a case under section 306 IPC has already been registered and now the law would take its own course.
In reply to another question he refuted the allegation that there was infighting within the Congress organization adding that there are always some difference of opinion in the party as there was complete intra party democracy. He said that it was also natural in every by-election that almost all the cabinet members and office bearers of the ruling party take active part.
