Flood situation in Sirsa and its villages has suddenly turned Grim, with rise in water in Ghagger the river has breached at several places, and before on breach is plugged, the river breaches at another place, this is the scenario all along its course from Sardulgarh, where it leaves Punjab and enters Haryana area, even near Sardulgarh Ghagger breached near village Sadhuwala-Foosmandi today in the morning. The breaches are more pronounced till Ghagger reaches Khairekaan Village where it crosses NH10.

After crossing NH10 till Ottu Lake and Weir about 12 KM downstream, Ghagger seems to be in a bit poise mood, barring a few minor breaches near Village Kelnia. The gates of ottu weir have been all thrown open to let the furious Ghagger pass through the weir without hinderence. The Ottu weir it its Embakment upstream also has offshoots for half a dozen medium sized canals and minors that take away water from Ottu Weir for irrigation this also helps in easing a little part about 1500 CuSecs of water from the main barrage. Today in the morning a total of 13588 CuSecs of water was being carried forward by Ottu Weir and its distributaries. Downstream the Ottu barrage a breach was reported near Village Ferozabad in the afternoon.

There are speculations and rumours making rounds that this time Ghagger waters may enter Sirsa city from a weak Bandh near Village Nezadella. People still have not forgotten when 80% of Sirsa was drowned by Ghagger in July 1993, at that time the Air Force station was also hit badly by the floods, The Air Force station is an important Air base of Indian Air Force. In that year people believed that dur to Air Force water wont be allowed to enter Sirsa, but it proved otherwise, now people hardly have any faith in the Administration or other Government departments and their statements, in fact some of the farmers had a grudge that the Govt even could not inform them of the real situation so that they may become more cautious, (See Videos). Politicians of both ruling party and the opposition are also making rounds of the flood affected areas to impress people with their viewpoints, but there are hardly any takers to their stories, and people instead murmur that they are causing hinderences to whatever work the farmers are doing on their own part. Yesterdays whirlwind round taken by ADC Pankaj Chaudhary also did not went well with the Public as she was in such a haste that no one believed she can be of any help. Today DC CG Rajini Kaanthan along with SDM SK Jain toured several villages to take stock of the situation.

CM Haryana, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda is expected to tour the Sirsa Parliamentary Constituency on 13th July. His visit is expected to be by air till Airforce station and by road to the affected areas in SIRSA, however if the floods get worse than he might only do an areal survey.

Mr. Abhay Singh Chautala INLD MLA from Ellenabad also visited several flood affected areas today. Ironically the MLA did not visit his own constituency which is equally flood prone as Ghagger is flowing to the brims there also

MP Ashok Tanwar also toured Fatehabaad, Sirsa flood affected areas.
