Wednesday witnessed a day of protest in Sirsa.

Employees of Non teaching departments of CDLU kept a lockout in front of Swami Vivekanand Library Complex pressing for their demand much needed new posts in Non Teaching Departments. CM Haryana had announced on his last visit in 1st week of August that he will pass an order to Education department for recruitment in NTD of CDLU. 

Girls of National College Women’s Wing blocked NH10 at Tau Devi Lal Chowk passing through the middle of city reportedly for more than a couple of hours, the Students were protesting against delay in construction of New Building of Girls Wing, which had been announced by CM Haryana over a year ago, Police and even intervention of SDM Sirsa could not pacify the protesting girls. Students alleged that despite repeated protests by them outside their college and the Deputy Commissioner’s office, the authorities were apathetic towards their demand.

Deputy Commissioner Anshaj Singh said the project had been delayed due to lack of coordination between two government department— PWD (B&R) and Haryana Urban Development Authority.

Later they removed the roadblock only to resume the protest next day in front of Girls Wing of the college.

Mobile Dealers Association of Sirsa protested in front of City Thana Sirsa and raised slogans against Police for its failure in preventing the rise in cases of thefts, chain snatchings in general and theft and break-in in Shops of Mobile Phone Dealers and technicians particularly. City SHO Suresh Pal could not satisfy the query about unsolved theft cases of previous 4 years. In January this year also the Association staged a protest for this problem.
