A Gurmat Training Camp was recently organized at Gurdwara Sahib, Chormaar Khera village stuated on NH10 Sirsa. The five day Gurmat Camp was held at the campus of Dashmesh Sr. Sec. School & Gurdwara Chormar Sahib. More than 90 children form various age groups participated in the camp that was divided into four segments spread over different classes and the fourth group was open to all even for those who were not students. Dr. Balbir Singh Gen. Secretary of the school informed Sirsa News that authentic knowledge about Sikh history, Sikh customs was imparted to the paticipants, Gurbani recitation and singing was taught by volunteers from Gurmat Gian Missionary College Ludhiana, Punjab. Jathedar Jagtar Singh Akali played the active role of bringing the learned Sikhs from the College to this remote part of Haryana for the benefits of the Sikhs. 10 of the participants vowed not to cut their hair.

Langer Pani Sewa round the clock was from Gurdwara Sahib. On the valediction day Baba Karam Singh ji, President Gurdwara Sahib Chormar gave away certificates of appreciation to all the participants. It may be mentioned here that the Gurdwara is managed under the able directions of Baba Karam Singh ji, a soft spoken personality Baba Karam Singh gets himself involved with the Sewadars, his motivating ways, cheerful & benign personality is popular with the Sewadars as well with those who visit the Gurdwara Sahib.

Mr. Balbir Singh told Sirsa News that Baba Karam Singh has education high on his agenda and for this he has opened the Sr School and that too affiliated to the CBSE board so that the students of this backward region get education from the CBSE board that has more popular appeal that the state board. But along with imparting education imbibing cultural values is a priority. The school is self funding and does not gets any aid from SGPC. Students from all communities are welcomed and are encouraged to take admissions in this school to maintain secular nature of Sikh Religion.
