Agitators, who were demanding up gradation of Govt High School in Kagdana to Sr. Secondary level, took an ugly turn when they blocked the traffic, locked the main gate of the Govt School today early in the morning.  The sequence of events as reported is: At around 7Am villagers locked the main gate of the High school which is 1KM away from the bus-stand. At around 8Am the demonstrators which were villagers as well as the students of the school, blocked Bhadra-Sirsa road. On getting the information at around 9Am SHO Chopta Police Station, Ravi Khundia reached the spot with Police force, at around 10AM, Block Education Officer (B.E.O.), and Naib Tehsildar also reached the place and tried to negotiate with the agitators. The talks and negotiations continued till 12 and demonstrators seemed to be pacified. It is alleged that the Police at this moment threatened the mob which again made the situation getting out of control. By this time a Bus load of Police force arrived from Sirsa, which allegedly cane charged resulting in pelting of stones by villagers on the Police force. A child was said to be hurt in this ruckus which led to torching of a Police Gypsy, a private Maruti car, a Police mini-bus and official Marshal jeep of Naib Tehsildar were also torched. SP Davinder Yadav and SDM Munish Nagpal also reached PS Chopta, a peace committee of 11 persons was formed to resolve the matter. Situation started cooling down there after. Ch Abhay Singh MLA Ellenabad had deplored the incident and criticized the Cane charge by the police. SP Davinder Yadav denied the use of any undue force.
