Challenges for graduating students. He said “Friends, you should get
ready to acquire knowledge in an integrated way for using multiple disciplines
towards product development and its management, right from the undergraduate
engineering programme. I am sure JCDM
College of Engineering is facilitating such inter-disciplinary projects experience
to all the students”. He further stressed on making JCDV as JCDM PURA where
PURA envisages (Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas) provision of
physical, electronic and knowledge connectivity to the rural clusters with a
minimum mass leading to economic connectivity. He also suggested the Management
of JCDM College of Engineering to select the rural complex consisting of nearly
50 villages with a population of around one lakh in the neighbourhood of the
college and transform that complex into a dynamic, economically viable,
ethically high PURA complex. This PURA can be named as JCDM PURA. He also added
that the new dimension of the 21st century is knowledge society,
where science, technology and environment will have to go together. The new age
model would be a four dimensional bio-nano-info-eco based. He said there is a large student community in the developing
countries and there is an urge for higher education. Hence, we should see how
we can empower them through university to university collaboration, student –
faculty interaction, lab to lab collaboration, reaching out the world class
quality teaching and research through a virtual reality environment with the
excellent content generated. At the end he urged the students to take oath
that I will work, work and work and succeed. Wherever
I am, a thought will always come to my mind. That is what process or product I
can innovate, invent or discover. I will work and work for removing the
problems faced by planet earth in the areas of water, energy, habitat, waste
management and environment through the application of science and technology. My
National Flag flies in my heart and I will bring glory to my nation. Dr. M.L.
