INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOUR
THE 62ND Independence Day was celebrated here with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at several functions at different places in the district. The main function was held at the local Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium where Mange Ram Gupta, Haryana Education and Transport Minister unfurled the National Flag. While addressing a huge gathering comprising politicians, Freedom fighters, students, academics and people from all walks of life he exhorted the people especially the youth to carry forward the legacy of all those known or unknown freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices to shatter the shackles of alien rule from our motherland. He cautioned the people to be vigilant about the conspiracies being hatched by some of the disruptive forces to divide the country on the basis of religion, language and other parochial considerations. He claimed that the Congress Government in the state has already committed to make Haryana a number one state in every sphere of development and welfare of the people. He claimed that the state under the able guidance of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda was marching ahead at a rapid pace to achieve its goal. On the occasion some freedom fighters and social activists were honoured. A cultural program was also organized in which students of various schools and colleges regaled the audience.
