Mr. Yudhbir Singh Khyalia, Deputy Commissioner SIRSA, inaugurated the Sirsa Branch of Public Sector bank: Andhra Bank at Parkash Rattan complex Barnala road Sirsa.

Addressing media persons soon after the inauguration, Mr. Mittal informed that Public sector banks have now the same outlook as Private sector banks but the working of these banks and dealings with customers is more transparent. He said that apart from all the facilities and services offered by any modern bank, Andhra Bank shall offer Zero balance account opening, No frills accounts for BPL persons, Student loans, Agriculture loans, loan against Gold etc. at attractive rate of interest. Mr. Nitin Bhandari, Sirsa Branch Manager, said that educational loans offered to Girl students shall have additional discount in rate of interest charged. Explaining the Logo and Mascot of the bank, Mr. Mittal said that Dolphin is the new mascot of the bank meaning friendliness and reliability as is the nature of Dolphin. Explaining about the symbol of the bank Mr. Mittal said that this is also very imaginative; The Symbol of Infinity denotes a Bank that is prepared to do any thing, to go to any lengths, for the customer The Blue pointer on the top represents the philosophy of a Bank that is always looking for growth and newer directions. The Key hole represents Safety and Security the Chain indicates togetherness, the colours Red and Blue denote dynamism and solidity.
Mr Nitin Bhandari informed that Andhra Bank, has its Head office at Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, has a Pan-India presence with 1540 branches, spread over all the states. "Andhra Bank" was founded by the eminent freedom fighter and a multifaceted genius, Dr.Bhogaraju Pattabhi Sitaramayya. The Bank was registered on 20th November 1923 and commenced business on 28th November 1923. Dr Bhogaraju Pattabhi Sitaramayya was born on 24th November 1880 in Gundugolanu village, West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. He was a renowned Freedom Fighter and a very illustrious personality. He was also president of INC in 1948
In order to step up its presence and to tap the business potential, outside the state of Andhra Pradesh, where it has a predominant presence, the Bank is opening Branches mostly in North, West and North-East and during the year 121 new branches are proposed in these states.
The Bank has created a new zonal office in Chandigarh to give thrust to its business plans & give focused attention in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttranchal, UT of Chandigarh and J & K.
