Accolades are being showered on Mr. Gopal Kaushik a research scholar of department of Law of CDLU on his selection for University Grants Commission Junior Research Fellowship. Mr. Kaushik had appeared in the June 2009 exam of UGC-JRF/NET. A law graduate from KUK, Kaushik had a brilliant academic record through out, he had also topped the LL.M of CDLU before this. This new achievement of JRF makes him the forst student of CDLU to get JRF. Humble and benign by nature, Mr. Kaushik gives the credit of his success to his father Mr. Mohal Lal Sharma, his maternal uncle Pt. Sita Ram Bhardwaj, and to his mentor Dr. Ashok Makker of LAW department CDLU. Mr. Gopal also had a stint as a practicing lawyer at District Courts Sirsa for a short while, but his love for higher studies and academics soon distracted him from the courts, and he pursued his LL.M. instead. He had also been teaching Law at Lala Hansraj Phutela Law College Sirsa to LLB Students. At LHPC also he is popular with the students for his informal way of imparting academic lessons.
About UGC-JRF
For candidates who desire to pursue research, the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is available for five years subject to fulfillment of certain conditions. UGC has allocated a number of fellowships to the universities for the candidates who qualify the test for JRF. The JRFs are awarded to the meritorious candidates from among the candidates qualifiying for eligibility for lectureship in the NET.
