Under Construction Railway Over Bridge (ROB) Beam Collapses

ONE of the beams of the under construction Railway over bridge (ROB) in the middle of City Sirsa on NH10, suddenly fell, today afternoon, whereas 4 other beams were also damaged and hung between the Pillars which are still standing. 2 scooters and a power Gen set were damaged under the debris of the fallen beam. No casualty was found. On getting information Inspector CID. Ajay Sharma and SHO city Sirsa Hans Raj rushed to the spot to control the situation. It may be recalled that the foundation stone of this Rs. 34 crore 22 lakh over bridge, was laid by Haryana Chief Minister B.S. Hooda on October 05, 2008. The bridge was to be completed by April 2010 and its construction work was going on war footing. Allegations are that use of inadequate and substandard material may be the main cause of the collapse. There is a demand that the material used should be got analyzed in a laboratory.

I wonder why we didn't get this peice of news on TV. Being a native of Sirsa and currently living in Bangalore, I have been following the progress of this work of construction very closely. Well, I hope it will be near completion when I come home next year in February.

This is very very rare news item ----highly suppressed news item by Dainik Jagran and Dainik Bhaskar ----Both converted Hill into mole.
In these newspapers , this news was displayed to be a very minor incident just like breaking of drain cover and assured readers nothing to be worried about.
THIS IS THE MOST NEGLIGENT MISUSE OF PRESS FREEDOM.If this news would have been given due coverage,Chambal bridge failure would have been averted.Media have practiced PEET PATRAKARITA(throwing news item just like peet of paan).
