Dr Ashok Tanwar, MP Sirsa garlanded the statue of Pt Jawahar lal Nehru at Nehru park Sirsa today at 10:30AM, he was flanked by S. Malkiat Singh Khosa, Distt Congress President, and other prominent Congress leaders and workers. While addressing media persons Dr. Tanwar said that Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru was the person who had the vision of a modern India in those days, Nehru brought the concept of Public Sector Undertakings (PSU). Mr Tanwar said that Jawaharlal Nehru was a passionate advocate of education for India's children and youth, believing it essential for India's future progress. His government oversaw the establishment of many institutions of higher learning, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the Indian Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institutes of Management. Nehru also outlined a commitment in his five-year plans to guarantee free and compulsory primary education to all of India's children. For this purpose, Nehru oversaw the creation of mass village enrollment programmes and the construction of thousands of schools. There after Ashok Tanwar, attended a function of Hanumant Charitable foundation at Nehru Park, a function at Congress Bhawan, later in the evening he participated in Children’s Day Celebrations at Bal Bhawan SIRSA. Baby Aditya Kiran Kalra D/o of Prof. Sanjeev Kalra, gave Children’s day message. Youth Viraangnaayen a social body under the aegis of DSS distributed free grocery to needy children.
