The Election Department, Haryana has decided to undertake the special summary revision of electoral rolls with reference to January 1, 2011 as the qualifying date.
Tehsildar (Elections) Sirsa informed Sirsa News that as per instructions from the Chief Electoral Officer, Ms. Sumita Misra, the draft publication of electoral rolls had been made and claims and objections could be filed between October 30 and November 23, 2010. Reading of relevant part or section of photo electoral rolls in Gram Sabhas or Local Bodies and Resident Welfare Associations meetings and verifications of names was allowed on November 6 and 9, 2010. Special campaign for receiving claims and objections would be undertaken by the Booth Level Agents of political parties on November 7, 13 and 21, 2010. In this period other grievances of the voters and eligible voters shall also be taken up, like name corrections, new admissions to Electoral Rolls of any one who attains the age of 18 yrs on or before January 01, 2011.
The claims and objections would be disposed off by December 23, 2010. The work of updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of supplementary lists would be carried out between December 23, 2010 and January 3, 2011. Final electoral rolls would be published on January 5, 2011.
