Five persons were killed and two others
seriously injured when a car with seven passengers was crossing an unmanned
crossing was hit by an oncoming goods train near Suchan village in Sirsa late in
the night between 24th and 25th February. Three of the
accident victims were members of one family. They were returning to Arnianwali
village of this district after attending a wedding at a dhani near
Suchan village.
The villagers, who assembled in a large
number at the accident site on the next morning, said the wedding party of
Manjit, son of Om Prakash from Arnianwali in Sirsa, had come to the bride’s
house at a dhani located between Suchan and Jodhkan village.
The
unmanned crossing, where the accident occurred, is located close to the dhani
that hosted the wedding.
