In a function held in CMK College Auditorium, Deputy Commissioner Sirsa gave away cheques worth Rs3.87 Crores as prizes (Nirmal Gram Puruskar) to Sarpanches of Gram Panchayats of 270 villages who have shown remarkable progressing in pursuing Total Sanitation Project.

Addressing the audience Mr. Khayalia said that it shall be the priority of administration to make Sirsa district, Literate, Clean and Healthy, Supply of clean drinking water to the remotest village of Sirsa shall be ensured.
ADC J Ganeshan IAS and other senior officers of the administration were present at the function.

Philanthropy:

Cheque of Rs 80,000 was given away as philanthropy by Smarghosh Evening NEWS Paper. The appeal to help one Maninder Singh a 19 year old youth of Rania, generated Rs 80,000 in the form of voluntary donations. Maninder S/o Balkar Singh was seriously injured in a road accident and was undergoing costly treatment at CMC Ludhiana. The family of the victim was in no position to bear the cost of the treatment.
