Prof Dr Kuldeep Singh Dhindsa, Director General of Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal Vidya Peeth inaugurated the T-10 Gully Cricket ‘Ab Har Koi Khelega’at the Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal National Cricket Floodlit Stadium here. Accompanied by JCD Vidya Peeth Maninder Pal Singh Brar, Anoop Wadhwa, Director Reasonable Communications, Prof Dhindsa was introduced to the players. Anoop disclosed that T10 Gully Cricket: Season 2 -‘Ab Har Koi Khelega’ completed its group matches at Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal National Cricket Academy from 19th January – 26th witnessed the 7 teams Jalandhar, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Daman, Ballia, Ludhiana and Sirsa joined Surat in the Super 8 stage of T 10 Gully Cricket – Season 2. These 8 teams would now battle it out from 3rd March to 7th.

In the opening match, Jalandhar played the first match before a sizable crowd. Hosts Sirsa were pitted against Balia, while Gorakhpur crossed swords with Daman in the third and last match on the inaugural day.

Singers from Mumbai Meet Brothers –Manmeet and Harmeet enthralled the crowd with the throbbing songs.

The Matches:

Jalandhar snatched an exciting victory during bat out session against Allahabad in the inaugural Group A fixture in the T-10 Gully Cricket ‘Ab Har Koi Khelega’at the Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal National Cricket Floodlit Stadium here today. The match ended ina thrilling tie as both teams scored an identical total of 104 which resulted in applying the bat out rule to decide the winners

Chasing a victory target of 105, Jalandhar could manage 104 for 8 in allotted 10 overs. In the last over, Jalandhar required seven runs to win. However, a deadly spell of bowling by Vinod Bind nearly swung the balance in favour of Allahabad by taking two wickets in the last over. He first dismissed Gurjeet Sheregil (0) and Amarjit Singh (12). Bind was on hat-trick but the Jalandhar denied him to perform the unique feat and the match ended in a tie. Davinder Judge (4) and Gurubaksh Singh (0) remained not out.

In bat out session, Allahabad lost their two wickets without scoring any run. Ravinder Pal hoisted a six of the first ball to fashion the well-deserved victory for Jalandhar.

Earlier, opener Suraj Kumar hit 64, which was laced with seven fours. Only Amarjeet Singh was the only other Jalandhar batsman to reach double figure by scoring 12 runs.

Earlier, an unbeaten 18-ball 42 by Ravinder Anand helped Allahabad pile up 104 for 5 in allotted 10 overs. Hitting with power, Anand was in a punishing mood as he hit the Jalandhar bowlers all over the wicket. His strokefull innings contained two fours and two huge sixes.

Anand was associated in a 50-run partnership with Shashank Singh (17) for the third wicket partnership after Allahabad were struggling at 17 for 2 in 2.2 overs.

After winning the toss, Allahabad lost opener Salam Ahmad (2) and Ashish Singh (7). However, Anand and Shashank propped up the innings with a resolute partnership for the third wicket stand.They carried the score from 17 for 2 before Shashank was bowled by Amarjeet who was the most successful bowler by taking two for21.

Aannd was also associated in a useful 27-run association with Pankaj Ojha (18, 3 sixes). Ashish Tripathi remained not out on 10. Three Allahabad batsmen were run out.

Mr Anoop disclosed that T10 Gully Cricket: Season 2 -‘Ab Har Koi Khelega’ completed its group matches at Jan Nayak Chaudhary Devi Lal National Cricket Academy from 19th January – 26th witnessed the 7 teams Jalandhar, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Daman, Ballia, Ludhiana and Sirsa joined Surat in the Super 8 stage of T 10 Gully Cricket – Season 2. These 8 teams would now battle it out from 3rd March to 7th. Sixteen teams competed at the Group Stage.
