The 42nd Annual Athletic meet concluded today evening at the sprawling sports grounds of Government Polytechnic Sirsa. The evening was made lively by the students and the staff of the institute by giving several events of Dance, Music, Songs, Poetry, and Entertainment sports like Tug of War and Musical Chair competition. A live band comprising of local artists and students of the institution gave the background score. Even ex students of the institute from as far away as Gurgaon joined in to make the evening enthralling. Rajasthani Dance by Priyanka and Shashi was widely applauded.
In the Girls students, Manju Kanta and Sumesta stood first second and third best athlete respectively, while in boys, Pankaj, Janak Kumar and Vikas Poonia were adjudged as 1st 2nd and 3rd best Athletes respectively. Mohit and Pardeep performed Bhangra.
Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Kiran Khyalia president Red Cross Society (Hospital Welfare Section) who is also a Associate Professor in Music (Inst) at Govt. College Sirsa, urged the students to take on sports with greater zeal apart from their regular studies for overall sense of well being and betterment of their personalities..

Mr. Pushpinder anchored the stage fortifying with his poetical stances. This reporter overheard students praising Mr. Pushpinder for preparing the exciting cultural events for this day in just a couple of days.
Mr. Surender Singh, President Sports, told SirsaNews that along with him Mr. Harnek Singh, Mr Arvinder Singh, Mr Balwinder Kamboj, Mr Davender and Mr. Azad Singh toiled in the sweltering heat and took all the pains in coordinating the events on all three days.
Er. Sudhir Gilhotra thanked the Chief Guest for giving ample time to the ceremony before the flag lowering ceremony.
